The whole theory behind that is to give him time to settle in and not play quickly straight away. In tests he has never been required to play really quick whenever he has walked in. He has gotten a fair chance everytime.

Fair to him seeing how he has not really been given a long rope that have been afforded to some others- Raina has played much more test cricket than he should have for eg.. Its easy to forget Rohit has only played 9 tests and it has been very stop start for him, who knows maybe he can knuckle down and produce one gritty knock that kick starts a good test career. he has also got starts in two innings in Aus, though he has played ridiculous shots to throw his wicket away too. His talent is there to see, and in an instance like his it is right to give him a sustained run.
