Raghav_12
Good decision by him. Late though. Because of his ego, it was impossible for him to stay in team just as the player and worrying about his position in playing 11 all the time. So if not captaincy, he had to leave the team. He'll not play in ODI team as well without being captain even though his position in ODIs can't be questioned. Also he can continue captaining ODIs as of now. Link to comment

diga
Ayaz Memon on twitter: CricketwallahVerified account @cricketwallah Understand Dhoni wanted to quit Test cricket anyway after this series. Issue being decided already forced his hand... Link to comment
Pagalpanti
Best MSD test captain moment was defeating AUssies in Nagpur where he put a 8-2 field to frustrate them and stuck to the plan all day He really knew how to win at home. I think he's won 8 out of 8 tests vs Aus at home. Eng series is the only blot in his home record. Link to comment
rkt.india
So u want him to stat peddle at home like sachin? If he had a career like Sachin. Link to comment
VRV Singh
Interested to know how much if anything Kohli etc were aware of this. I am guessing it was always the plan for this to be his last series but the fact that Sydney is a dead rubber accelerated things. Generally Kohli's batting form in this series might have assured things in Dhoni's head too. Hopefully this decision can prolong his ODI career. Link to comment
The Realist
"MS Dhoni, has decided to retire from Test cricket citing the strain of playing all formats of cricket" Sounds a bit strange to be leaving mid series ala Swann. Wonder how I.Sharma feels being abandoned? Will he ever get selected again? Link to comment
BeautifulGame
If he had a career like Sachin. How great shouldn't equate to how selfish u are. Regardless of how much any player achieves team should always come first Link to comment
CSK Fan
How great shouldn't equate to how selfish u are. It doesn't. There is a reason why Sachin is one of the most respected names in world cricket and retired with such a fan fare Link to comment
The Dark Horse
Respect his decision :hatsoff: Though a bit late..not many Indian captains would have done it Link to comment

IKnowU
wait for idiots on facebook to talk about his ODI record and talk of how he won us world cups credit where its due maybe. Let's not act like he had world beaters in the bowling attack, he had to work with the limited poverty line bowling resources which he could only take/hide them so much. Link to comment
Debutant
Even though I wanted him to retire in Tests but I am feeling sad now after this news Link to comment
