People saying spinners wont work in Australia need to understand that World cup would be at end of Aussie summer and pitches would be used a lot by then and i do think we will see help for spinners.

Have some world class ODI batsmen and this is a very good fielding side

I don't see any difference in the WC Indian bowlers with no thinking will go easily for 300+...& our batting have to chase it down....against superior bowling attack match after match. They are bound for fail in a game or two. Don't see Indian team in the Final this year. Maybe SF...and that also a big MAYBE.

That's what ICC & Broadcasters plot all the time. What happened in 2007. Their plotting is kicking the associates out of the WC literally. They could have kept the existing format. Some of the associates looks promising and are hindered in their progress due to lack of quality cricket in the middle plus funds. :bow: to ICC/Broadcasters/BCCI
Number Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 The format did us in 2007. One bad game and you can book return tickets. Sometimes I think among 2003, 2007 and 2011 the strongest team was in 2007, with Kumble as leading bowler. But the batting order changes screwed it.

If not first round, QF exit for sure with weak bowlers like Pinny etc.
nevada Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 2007 was an older and slower team. The current team has only Dhoni over 30 and everyone else is much younger. I think we will reach knockout stage this time but will suffer a humiliating defeat thanks to our lackluster bowling. Despite weak bowling we won in 2011 but that was at home and it was one of those rare times when the stars aligned perfectly for us. It is a once in a life time occurrence and won't happen again. It all boils down to 3 knock out games but with a joke of a bowling attack, we shouldn't have even remote expectations of a win.
