Old guy Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 There's plenty of time to work on flaws before next series. Hope he keeps getting game time though. Less than 50 FC matches, playing with red ball after turning 17, kept out of side for 1 or 2 years. He needs gametime and experience to learn. Severly lacking in that. Steyn and all the Pak greats have done more than what is expected of quick bowlers in SC. Often it is reverse they have gotten many of their wickets from. Yadav is not as consitent as them line/length wise but keep backing him cause he has pace and gets it to reverse just lacks accuracy. Hopefully with more game time and experience he learns. Off field he can work on action there's plenty of time before next series and he doesn't have to be out of squad to work on action. I still think potential wise he is one of best we produced and I totally get your point too but I will wait for now and see how he I oroves and get consistent as this series was really bad to be honest . What use will be reverse if he cannot even direct a spell of tfull and straight bowling and bowls wides ? When he played against England I remember he played tests vs New Zealand and inning by inning he improved and finally looked good in that match and then got injured but right now he is not showing improvement .he did look good in odis but for some strange reason regressed again ..

One more question - How many wickets did Philander get in the recent Capetown test vs WI (who are by the way ranked 8th in tests)? : Answer is a big fat zero. But still they persist with Philander bcos he can keep it tight and get early wickets even if there is little early movement. And you guys are so over-reacting that Bhuvi has got 1 wicket while being half fit bowling on the flattest wicket of this flat-wickets series???

Good post..we badly need bowler who can keep it tight Need to find right balance between erratic but wicket taker bowlers and guys like bhuvi who are steady ..

Exactly.Aus and SA have great backup,we exactly arent blessed in this department
Forever Indian Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 I know our bowlers have bowled badly but they we should give them some breathing space - This is the series (four tests or less) with the most runs in the history of test cricket officially making it the flattest test series. Aggregate runs of more than 5700 runs. These are the best 5 bowlers we have at present so we should look at how to improve them rather than talk about throwing them out of team.
vvvslaxman Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 He is back from injury on a flat wicket. Can't read much into it. But he is another guy who needs to get used to Kookaburra balls sooner. Didn't get a chance to bowl in SA and NZ. Now Australia just one test on a pancake.

ThePhenomenal1 Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 He was only given 2 tours: england and aus. 1 was tailor made for swing bowling and he got wickets and did well with the bat. The other was just too much for him considering his pace. Once he gets quicker and bulks up a bit, he will be fine.

Lol Op waits with baited breath for the day BK has a bad match......pity he can't go all out against the guy who in a small way helped save the match .
