msplash9 Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Some of them are real gold :) http://www.scoopwhoop.com/sports/harsha-bhogle-quotes/?ref=social&type=fb&b=0
Precambrian Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Awesome. Always thought he was unnecessarily ridiculed here.
Sachin=GOD Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 He used to be India's best commentator till about 3-4 years ago. Then he suddenly started talking way too much in the commentary box. He still has a really good command over the language, knows about the game and can describe many situations really well (as seen in the above link in OP) as long as he speaks less.
sourab10forever Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 needs to stop wondering in the com box though ....if u understand.
kosingh Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 These are great. But still not a fan. He just kind of throws out random metaphors and similes. 1 in 3 come off as brilliant, but the other 2 make you go WTF. A more polished version of Sidhu. And although bhogle gets the work done as a commentator, at least in comparison to most of his fellow indian commentators, he walks a fine line between what is ethical and what is unethical for a commentator/ media person / journalist - whatever he calls himself.
Temujin Khaghan Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 thats why i dont like him being mentioned in the same line as manjoo
bowl_out Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Awesome. Always thought he was unnecessarily ridiculed here. +1 He talks trash at times... But better than most commentators on the Star Panel
CoverDrive Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 point is after point in time you get to diminishing returns. these guys have been at it for 20 years and then even something decent sounds repetitive and cliched. if you put a good film scriptwriter to write for daily soaps churning out 200 episodes an year he will become bland and boring harsha's USP is being like a normal cricket fan who really revels in the romance of cricket and showing that excitement and love of game through his commentary. kind of tough to maintain when you do that 200 days in a year including things like IPL
puneet28 Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 I always rate him best commentator from India. Don't know why people dislike him here.
G_B_ Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 i have no issue with the knowledge and his vocabularry point is that he talks non stop.
goose Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 it's not just what he says but how he says it. like he's gods gift to English.
sscomp32 Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 TFS. Some of them are brilliant Like The Pujara one and No 30 and 35. I heard the No 35 live and could not stop laughing at that time. :hysterical:
Silva Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 It turns out Pujara is only a good classical musician on Indian soil.
HippoSucks Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 I've always liked his commentary, although sometimes he talks a little too much. But either way he has a lot of knowledge of the game and is a pleasure to listen to (most of the time).
coffee_rules Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 lets just say his metaphors and similes are way, way better than Sidhu's. Yes, Sidhu. We dont need artistry of English lanuage, but expert opinion on the game by the commentator. Anecdotes, opinions. Colorful prose can be reserved for journalists and writers.
