jonas10 Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 India has top spot guaranteed unless they lose BOTH matches. :giggle: As such is there a benefit to giving someone like Dhoni and Kohli a break? Imagine if they pick up an injury in a match against Ireland and then would be unavailable in the QF?:(( I'd consider sitting some of the regulars and giving the bench a real go such as Binny/Raydu. Also ideally having Raina, Rohit, Jadeja getting more batting time.
sensible-indian Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Dhoni, Raina, Jaddu and Ashwin need more batting practice. Seriously.
zen Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 If Ind wants to try anything, it can vs. Ire .... However, will not advise doing the same in the last group game vs. Zim as the team has to go to the KO with a feeling that everything is sorted out (from the balance. form and strategy perspective) and with a win under its belt
jf1gp_1 Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 I would pick Binny in place of Ashwin against Ireland. Given his form Ashwin will play QF and up. If we get tricky pitch then the only potential change is Binny for jaddu.
Cricketics Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 I really do not want to change the batting order. 7 day rest between games is enough rest for them. So definitely no resting here. We are heading towards quater final in about a 10 days. Let's start getting ready for it. We can not take a back step now by resting players. We actually should be getting ready to pick our 11 for that first playoff q/f game which comes in about 12 days time.
Cricketfanatic Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Were they playing against a big team India would definately played Binny instead of Jadeja due to NZ conditions. But since the two oppositions are both minnows and we are unlikely to play any knockout in NZ,they might go with the same team.

vvvslaxman Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 They're getting enough rest between games. One of the reason Shami is bustling and hustling. Though it is boring, it works for our team.
Cricketics Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 our next game is on Tuesday. That is still not that far. So let's just play same bat order. We should be getting ready to pick our playoff team since that is the most crucial game coming up and is not too far away and we should know what team to play in that game. So instead of changing teams now, we should just stick to a batting order and play it for next few games.
Sid Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Not gonna happen but just to troll Pakis, we should rest half our side.Endless supply of conspiracy theories would be fun as well.:giggle:
sandeep Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Dhoni looked injured at the end of the last game - he should definitely be managed well. Rayudu can step in for a game instead of him...
Ironhide Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 We should definitely rest Shami for one game, he is coming back from injury, thank god for week long duration between matches and the precise ultrasound guided injection. Even Yadav should be rested for one game, he has been playing non-stop since long time now, Tests- Triseries-warmups everything. The only reason he has not broken down like others is he is built like an ox. So, Rest Shami in one match and Yadav in another. Batsmen should be ok, if Dhoni is having minor strain which was visible during last match then get him one match rest.
vvvslaxman Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Not gonna happen but just to troll Pakis' date=' we should rest half our side.Endless supply of conspiracy theories would be fun as well.:giggle:[/quote'] India all out for 100, Ireland 101 for 2 in 10 overs :cantstop: Rohit sharma 5 overs 50 runs Kohli 5 overs 51 runs
urbestfriend Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 There will be no change..Hasn'r Dhoni clearly mentioned in post match press meet "Players in the bench will warm the bench , and we play with same"?
G_B_ Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 One of the reason Shami is bustling and hustling. Though it is boring' date=' it works for our team.[/quote'] problem is the duration between games is going to get shorter. You potentially have 5 games in 20 days. Forget Shami Mohit is going to be hit badly by these burst of emails.
Precambrian Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Absolutely no need to rest players. Enough rest days already in between. This is a world cup not kitply cup to rest players. Unless of course a player is suffering from niggles and continued exposure can cause breakdown. Forced rest can make a player lose his rhythm. Shami, Yadav all are in good rhythm and don't want to lose those. Further both Zim and Ire are playing good cricket overall and the last thing India would want going into knockouts would be an embarrassment.
jonas10 Posted March 7, 2015 Author Posted March 7, 2015 The question isn't resting players for rest sake. It is about unnecessarily risking Dhoni shami and kohli etc when they can get injured. Ie does getting more practice (cause that's what the next two matches are) trump the risk of injury? Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
