For e.g. one of the struggling (relatively) batsmen could easily be replaced by Vijay, who showed great form in the test series against OZ. Shami+Yadav+Mohit+Aaron+Ashwin would have made a terrific attack, esp. against Asian teams, Zim, Ireland, etc. Now we have to hope that those in the 11 (including Rohit and Jadeja, along w/ Raina against good fast bowling sides) would be able to turn their "A" game on :nice:

sensible-indian Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 All current teams have theirs. Aussies 2003 and 2007; WI 1979 and 1983 were the only nearly flawless teams ever in a WC. Think about what the weakness of the following teams are and compare them to ours. Bangla - Where do I begin? :haha: SA - Any explanations needed? Pak - Batting is a big weakness, so is fielding. If Misbah is removed, entire team will crumble. WI - Too dependent on one or two batsmen. Bowling is one of the worst. SL - Bowling is a clear weakness Aus and NZ are the ones with the least number of weaknesses in home conditions. India is clearly ahead of others. All teams struggle when one or two of the top order batsmen get dismissed cheaply especially while chasing, this problem is hardly unique to India. Yes... I am talking about in ABSOLUTE terms. For India, the top 2 can get out very easily if there is decent swing. Kohli hasn't been Kohli exactly this tourney. So that's a concern.

We are persisting with Rohit and Jadeja in the name of "winning" combination and Jadeja being the mythical "match-winner". On the other hand teams like Pakistan have learned from their defeats. They replaced their openers with Sarfaraz and it is already paying them huge dividends. Might come back to bite us in the later stages.

No they are being persisted due to lack of alternatives.Dont really want to see Rayudu n Binny playing atleast in Aus matches In Pakistan everyone was asking for Sarfraz from start.He was their big scorer recently.They lose and merely corrected their mistakes.

Unless you play Binny as opener , you never know.Also the last I know, Rayudu has made a 50 in his last warm up game before the league began, so he is definitely in some sort of form. Pakistan was pushed to open with Sarfraz and it clicked off. Unless Dhoni takes that risk, it is curtains.
