No jinx/anti-jinx going on. They are better than us in most departments. Better fielding, better running between wickets, better quick bowlers, greater batting depth, etc. Only area we may have an edge on them is with our spinners, but I don't think Ashwin and Jadeja haven't done much v them in ODIs outside of Asia? Of course we can beat them. It's a one-off semi final, and they're not the killer Aussie team of 2003 and 07. But best not to get our hopes up too much.

Yadav can easily lose his composure when attacked a bit as we in tests where he was going around 18 rpo.

Our A+ game is better than their A+ game but our A game is worse than their A game. We would have won the Adeliade test with A+ batting. If this were a game of Chess, we will win it on a canter. Aussies don't want to just win but they want a dominating win to send a message to the other finalists. They want to be heroes in front of the home crowd and will take that extra risk. Dhoni will look to exploit this. If NZ are the first finalist, expect India to play some mindgames before our game.

The key difference is that Australia have more & better fast bowling options than India does. Conversely, India has more & better spin bowling options than Australia does. Johnson can also lose composure when attacked. The pitch will decide who has the advantage.

putrevus Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Batting 1 to 6 india is marginally better due to presence of Dhoni, but their 7 to 11 have lot of fire power. Their fast bowling is far better but Indian spinners they are better than Maxy. They are slight favorites due to Starc.

They bat down to 10, and even Hazelwood could hold an end up in tight matches. They also have more power hitters than we do.
