bones Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 As sad as it is and as wonderful as he was for the game in a studio and on the field. I didn't like it when he was commentating, in fact he and many of the older generation who commentate made watching cricket too dull. He was very good in a studio, but not as good commentating.

Sachinism Posted April 10, 2015 Author Posted April 10, 2015 This is one that hurts. Cricket just felt a different spectacle when he was on commentary. There's nobody who captivates the audience like he could and it seemed he did it without even trying. I reckon all of us at some point have imitated his voice, growing up his 'catchphrases' were always heard around the parks, clubs, just wherever cricket was being played. Absolute legend

Heard he was a great all rounder and a brilliant captain too in his playing days but his commentary is all we kids know about ever since we got hit by the cricket bug. RIP Sir, you will be missed, a huge huge void now in the cricketing world with your demise.
