Clarke Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Its not the aggression or the ego, it was Dada's grit that I missed once he had retired. The way we were crapping our pants on overseas tours after his retirement, it made me wonder if all that would have happened had Dada been the captain.

Ganguly as a "coach" - what has he done in that department? Nothing. His sting with KKR and PWI was an epic fail. You need to be really cautious before you let Ganguly access to the dressing room. Ganguly can be a good motivational speaker, good selector but I have serious reservations about this team director/coach thing.

BeautifulGame Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Best thing for India would be for Ganguly to get into BCCI becoz he is only one in Indian cricket that can cope with the political side of things Even though his too huge he obviously is passionate about Indian cricket and we need someone like Ganguly to reform BCCI and make it professionals. We went through enough turmoil becoz of the proximity between Dhoni and Srinivason .Do we really need to go through again with Ganguly and Dalmiya . Even Dravid would be better off as a selector . There will be massive media glare on Dravid and scrutiny as well .We would be much better off with a qualified foreign coach with no baggage and proven record at least as a player

The main factor would be his relationship with the current lot of players. I would like one of Shastri or Ganguly to be the coach. Is Shastri not interested in continuing ?

Relationships change and evolve. Ganguly hasn't got much to do with the Indian team of 2015.

What I mean is .... he has to develop a good relationship with the current bunch. They should be comfortable having him around and look up to him as a mentor.

He is also expected to work with out-of-form cricketers, the ones with problems in their technique and help them stage comebacks. Top sources in the Indian cricket board have also confirmed that they want Dravid as the Talent Development Manager, based in Bangalore. His role would be to work closely with the Under-19 team and identify talent for the national team, while also working with the NCA Source - NDTV :woot:

Power in over all cricketing structure and decisions but no influence in Selection Coach/Captain or playing XI ? If yes then great appointment .But hope it is not like the Strauss appointment ala Director of cricket. Also great to have Sachin to involved with NCA.Hope he asks Zak to join him at NCA.Need to reform the NCA big time Dravid our U19 :hatsoff: Hope these aren't just paper talk and soon announced
