mishra Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Rice - Dev Trophy :hmmm: Rice - Dal would be better :dontknow: Knew someone will come up with Dal Rice soon. :--D
Crookbond Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 May be Kallis - Dravid Trophy. Tendulakar's persona is too big to be associated with just a bilateral series. The only just use of Tendulkar's name in naming a trophy would be if ICC names ICC cricket world cup as Sachin World Cup. Anything lesser than that would be demeaning for Sachin. +1 I move a motion for Sachin Premier League instead of IPL.

Each edition of ICC cups should be named after a great player from the host country...will the fun.
Raghav_12 Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 +1 I move a motion for Sachin Premier League instead of IPL. - 1. Sachin name cannot be associated with a reality show. If in future we have Test Championship, that must be named as Sachin Test Championship.
Raghav_12 Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Each edition of ICC cups should be named after a great player from the host country...will the fun. It wouldn't be great to have names like Shakib World Cup or Odumbe World Cup.
sourab10forever Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 It wouldn't be great to have names like Shakib World Cup or Odumbe World Cup. As if Bangladesh will ever host a world cup all by themselves.. Sachin ganguly gavasker are there
randomGuy Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 How about Nel-Shrisant trophy? Would be awesome. :haha:
Gollum Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 - 1. Sachin name cannot be associated with a reality show. If in future we have Test Championship, that must be named as Sachin Test Championship. There are probably 20 players(all time) better than Sachin in the test format, many much much better.
HippoSucks Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 There are probably 20 players(all time) better than Sachin in the test format' date=' many much much better.[/quote'] Despite that most experts rate him the second best test batsman of all time after Bradman (I know those 20 players you're talking about include bowlers too) and select him in almost every All Time Test XI ahead of some of those other 20 players.
maniac Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 I have watched or atleast followed every single India-South africa series till date ,including the historic series where S.A re-entered the international cricket post apartheid....infact that was my first fully formed memory of cricket Most ICFr's get all worked up when they hear boring and tests in the same sentence....I don't want to comment on anyone's cricketing accumen or age but again this is my assumption only when i say this but most fans have probably started following the Ind-SA test series from 2011 or even going back to 2006-2007... As it was said 2011 was probably the best series played by these 2 teams ,yes the cricket was intense in patches but in cricketing parlance,it was just another good series played out by 2 evenly matched teams....nothing that would make it either a cricketing classic or a series that would be etched in the memory of every cricketing fan.Yes,as Indian fan if the Durban test win is special, than fair enough. Let us analyze this series 1st test won by South africa by an innings 2nd test won India by 80+ runs-while special special moment as an indian cricket fan, hardly a great test match if you rate it neutrally. 3rd test-A tame draw-Yes thats what it was in the end So what's special? Yeah there might be some individual performances that grab your attention like Azhar's knock in Eden Gardens,The famous SRT-Azhar Partnership(that catch by Adam Bacher too),Donald's spell in 1996 tour,Steyn's spell,Srinath's spell etc but hardly there are any cricketing classics that capture the imagination of the world. If your idea of excitement is to watch a Andrew Hall knock or Amla or kallis's robotic efficiency than good for you...or wait even Harris bowling some rippers which don't turn

mishra Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Bloody hell. Its reality now. I thought they will name Coca Cola or pepsi series. http://www.espncricinfo.com/india-v-south-africa-2015-16/content/story/915937.html All future bilateral series between India and South Africa, including South Africa's forthcoming tour of India, will be called the Mahatma Gandhi-Nelson Mandela series, the two boards have announced. The Test series, the BCCI and Cricket South Africa said, will be played for the Freedom Trophy.

Raghav_12 Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Will still be a paytm series..like investec ashes' date=' paytm ghandhi Mandela series[/quote'] Paytm, Gandhi, Mandela in a single phrase. Paytm has some august company.
cowboysfan Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 i think the pitches have been disappointing in this series. i feel pitches have been improving everywhere except australia who have made cricket unwatchable with those flat drop in pitches.
