Let's hope there is a marginal umpiring call against Bangladesh so that they all come back to life with an excuse at their hands.

If they were not part of Test nation the number of one day games they play will be severely affected. It is a shame that they are using their test status to get more one day games instead of trying to improve.

Prior to 2010 we weren't good enough for Test status, but by virtue of playing Tests we have developed a good young core of players. The batting is no longer terrible and that is a massive improvement. On these same flat tracks Bangladesh would be bowled out for 250 routinely...now we post 400 plus on a regular basis and often 500+. From 2000 to 2012 we had only drawn 1 Test - vs a WI side with Lara, Chanders, Sarwan, and Gayle. Since 2013, we've drawn 5 Tests, 1 away in Sri Lanka, and a series against New Zealand. That is statistically significant improvement, no matter how much one wishes to deny it. Unfortunately, we aren't Pakistan and don't have natural bowling talent. That will take some time and will also require decent sporting pitches, which we can't have at home until our bowling attack forumulates. Right now we just have an ad hoc assemblage of random guys as a "bowling attack".

They play to draw matches. If even a single Test match win at home seems to them like an unrealistic expectation, then what's the point of this Test match status? Worst thing is, that there is absolutely ZERO intent to improve.

How about taking a cue from India of 90s or even today? We don't have a bowling attack, but still we prepare pitches which make even Jadeja look like Warne. Playing to draw is no solution. Sorry to say, but Test Cricket cannot afford this attitude.

There is no excuse there. They have bowled 50 overs and not a single fuucking wicket. That's a disgrace considering all the noises they made before the start of the match.

Debutant Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 when does the monsoon start in bangladesh ? they are slated to host sa in dhaka and chittagong in july. Monsoon is the best season for them to play cricket. With rain they have the best chance to get a draw or two :cantstop:
