rkt.india Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 For that spot we'd need someone like Mandeep or Pandey who can build an innings as well as hit from ball 1 if that is the requirement. Rayudu is a top order batsman' date=' he'll have to wait till someone is rested/injured.[/quote'] Neither Mandeep nor Pandey are the type of batsmen who can hit out at will.
sensible-indian Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 The answer is insufficient data. Right now its all about testing combos and monitoring results.
sensible-indian Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 We also need 7 proper bats. No 7 is a crucial spot. Binny as of now has sealed that spot.
Marut Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 We need more experimentation to come to any conclusions.
zen Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 Today in outside subcon conditions: Dhawan Rohit Rahane / Vijay Kohli Dhoni Raina Binny Ashwin Shami BK / spinner Yadav
Pagalpanti Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Neither Mandeep nor Pandey are the type of batsmen who can hit out at will. Well they're no Pollards but they can certainly score briskly as compared to other alternatives. This of course is based on off what little I've seen off em in the IPL. Mandeep played some very good cameos, even for KXIP iirc. Pandey also keeps it moving.
Pagalpanti Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Today in outside subcon conditions: Dhawan Rohit Rahane / Vijay Kohli Dhoni Raina Binny Ashwin Shami BK / spinner Yadav Kohli should be at 3 if in form. He's our best bat and has to play maximum overs if we're to maximize our chance to win.
zubinpepsi Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 any ODI/T20 team with Rahane is not a good team. He should be nowhere near ODI/T20.. what a slouch..
vishalvirsingh Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Waiting for vishalvir's comments on pace attack for indian/Asian tracks which don't support Pace much- the best 6 pacers for odi are- Shammi- aggressive Yadav -aggressive Bhuvi-defensive Ishant-defensive Mohit-defensive Varun- aggresive one can select any three- only point to consider is not to pick only defensive or only aggressive. I mean don't pick varun umesh and shammi together.. do a mix n match of defensive n aggressive n pick. for tests- varun Umesh Shammi are the best 3. Ishant for his bounce and even Pankaj are good unless its swinging conditions( bhuvi should be picked in England and swinging conditions)
vishalvirsingh Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 any ODI/T20 team with Rahane is not a good team. He should be nowhere near ODI/T20.. what a slouch.. Do realist the truth that KohlI dhawan rohit n rahane are the best batsmen in india at this moment and probably for both odi n tests.. these guys have the talent to suceed. all the above 4 are one level better than second level guys like raydu uthappa kedar n others.... these 4 are way better I mean they have better strokes they are complete batsmen. so if raydu is played ahead of rahane.. if they play together u will come to know who is better. rahane has to be persisted in odi. Even rahane did well as a captain
vishalvirsingh Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 I was binny"s critic but he has made me look like a fool. he is a good hitter and a good batsman. Though he is under 130k but is intelligent n maintains good line n length.I guess he wanna make his dad proud.
vvvslaxman Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 We need more experimentation to come to any conclusions. India never tried more wrist spinners. This Karn sharma is mediocre. With enough encouragement Kuldeep could have gone somewhere. Shreyas gopal , Chahal never got enough chances . For some reason we are obsessed with darters .
Vilander Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 for indian/Asian tracks which don't support Pace much- the best 6 pacers for odi are- Shammi- aggressive Yadav -aggressive Bhuvi-defensive Ishant-defensive Mohit-defensive Varun- aggresive one can select any three- only point to consider is not to pick only defensive or only aggressive.
