Gollum Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 http://www.espncricinfo.com/sri-lanka-v-india-2015/content/story/912881.html :(( Karun Nair and Naman Ojha to replace them.
Cricket_Hacker Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Even if we win this test,no way we win the next one Sent from my HM NOTE 1LTE using Tapatalk
jusarrived Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Saha could be a blessing but VJ is a big loss
Jimmy Cliff Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 So we'd probably line up a bit like this... Nair Rahul Rahane Kohli Tailunt Ojha Binny Ashwin Mishra Ishant Yadav #AnyonebutChe
adi B Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Dhawan will replace vijay and chepu will replace saha, rahul will keep (depends on his performance as a keeper tomorrow)
The Realist Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Dhawan will replace vijay and chepu will replace saha' date='rahul will keep (depends on his performance as a keeper tomorrow)[/quote'] Dhawan has gone home injured already So called "young team" is more injury prone than the ageing Aussies
rkt.india Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Nair isn't an opener. Though is a good selection.
jusarrived Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Nair isn't an opener. Though is a good selection. Nair does not have the technique to open , but on the other extreme he's the best player of spin in India imo
adi B Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Dhawan has gone home injured already So called "young team" is more injury prone than the ageing Aussies Oh,then chepu will have to open and nair replaces saha then, rahul will keep. I think this should be the team taking everything into consideration : Rahul Chepu Rahane Kohli Nohit Nair Ojha Ashwin Mishra Yadav Pishant Need to play 6 proper batsmen now, enough of 5 bowlers
Bigg Brother Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Not happy about injury but finally pujara will get chance. Vijay is massive loss but hope he recovers before sa series. His running b/w wicket was indicator that he wasn't fit.
G_B_ Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 If need be even Rahane can open he started his career as an opener in the ranjis for Mumbai. In this test he has been in really early anyways.
jusarrived Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 If need be even Rahane can open he started his career as an opener in the ranjis for Mumbai. In this test he has been in really early anyways. I feel it's unfair . For all the runs he scores for us we have been pushing him around quite a bit already . The risk is if it impacts his game
ravishingravi Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 They are not used to playing 5 days. Too much of pyjama cricket has softened them.
G_B_ Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 I feel it's unfair . For all the runs he scores for us we have been pushing him around quite a bit already . The risk is if it impacts his game Dude he has always been shuffled around from 1 to 4 for mumbai through his first class career. Number 5 playing for India if anything he was out of position. He will be used to it. His game remains unchanged where he bats. I think he started the SA tour at number 6 and he was fine. The problem i see with Che and Rahul opening is both are similar players and our RR is going to be shot with both these two opening. Rahane in test cricket appears to be more aggressive than both of them. So IMO there needs to be the balance.
CG Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Saha could be a blessing but VJ is a big loss nonsense statement considering saha has batted and kept well so far.
Vijy Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Vijay will be a massive loss. Depends. If we get a spinning pitch, Chepu is as good a bet as Vijay. Avg of 100+ as an opener in Tests too (in 4 innings).
Vijy Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 If need be even Rahane can open he started his career as an opener in the ranjis for Mumbai. In this test he has been in really early anyways. It would disrupt rhythm too much - 5 to 3 to 2 (or 1). Rahane hasn't opened for Mumbai very much since early days of his FC career.
