Have I ever disagreed Rahane has had a very good start in tests or is definetely a regular in tests where as Rohit is still trying to find his feet in that format? But yes Rohit in ODI's has much more lifelines after his average ever since moving to opening....He did well in C.T,WI series and in S.A everyone failed so not a benchmark but on apples to apples he was ok....In Nzl he did fine,infact Vijay in the test series was not a failure as well because they did wha was supposed to be done in those conditions but yes too bad they couldn't convert. Having said that Rohit over Dhawan over Rahane as a ODI opener....it's a no brainer....you might assess their technique on test cricket...ODI is a different ball game and in Nzl and Aus they will get some pitches with true bounce and you know Rohit is a killer on those pitches.

How exactly is Rohit over Dhawan now? He was supporting Dhawan all through the CT. Both failed in NZ. Dhawan and Rahane seems like a much better duo with the running between the wickets. Something that Rohit lacks. His tuk tuk ends up putting pressure on Kohli and the rest overseas
