Ground looks terrible. Extremely unpleasant to watch. Hopefully no one will get injured just before world cup

How come the richest board in the world approve a ground like this for an International  match ?

This match is a last minute arrangement. Match wasn't supposed to be played here 2 weeks back. The ground was undergoing some work on outfield. They were putting sand to soften it.

Yes. Read that.

"So the ground was quite used. For an international match you need a better outfield. We had 10 days. It was a new challenge, and we have worked hard on it. It's easy to say no, but we took the challenge. And we have prepared it."

They should have said no. But won't blame the groundstaff. BCCI should have monitored this and Jharkhand association should have informed BCCI

There must have been atleast 10 other grounds ready to host the match. What if Rohit had injured himself there !!

Who's responsible for approving this game at Ranchi - can't blame the groundstaff for reasons mentioned above.  Someone should have held a hand up and said, conditions are not good enough to host an international game.

Very poor stuff from the bcci, cant blame jharkand cricket association for this as they weren't prepared, bcci should have shifted the game to any other ground which was prepared

and u got to be smoking something special not to realize Dhoni was instrumental as ranchi being a host for the games.

Yeah, a playing captain has the BCCI on a string and gets to decide where games are hosted.

Game hosting rights are a currency for BCCI babus to bribe/reward certain associations for voting and other support.  Thats why they didn't care whether the facilities or ground conditions are good enough - it doesn't enter their equation.  In short, its a completely internal dynamic with zero opportunity for players to influence.  Dhoni-worshippers give him too much credit and haters are attributing too much influence to him.  Its like in their minds, he's some kind of Dr. Evil type character who controls entire BCCI.  Its ridiculous.
