In IPL he can only contribute if he bats up the order as he needs a few balls to settle and can't smack from first ball. Whenever he has batted higher in IPL like with Rajasthan and Kochi he had done really well. tweaker 1

Ankit_sharma03 Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 HE was a decent batsman who had a decent technique, but he was never meant to be a no 7 batsman he had a gud defensive technique , if nyone find videos of hi earlier years ull see he looked a solid played who again lacked ability to hit big shots but still cud defend the ball n take singles n doubles. At no 7 u dnt get to bat much , n hence ull loose ur confidence. HE always does decent when he plays a season of ranji which gives him time to bat and there is flow in his batting. Even his few internationals innigs have been when he has got in early . Over the years he changed his technique n now he is nt even a gud defensive batsman and still neither can hit big shots. I feel soon he is gonna become a bowler who cud bat for time on wkt thats it. His bowling n has improved and batting going worst than ever. tweaker 1

bowl_out Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Never seen him play a straight batted shot.. Almost all his scoring shots come from flat batted swats to long on, deep mid wicket or slash to third man or deep point... Does anyone remember him playing a cover drive ever?
