Ishant's fiance Pratima is a sportstar in her own rights. She is member of Indian national basketball team. What is more Pratima's 3 more sisters are also members of national team.

c'mon man...look at the effort put in by his basket ball player fiancee in looking good....she is looking like a doll.Perfect for the occasion.

And look at the effort put in by Ishant.

But I am using same logic which modern people are biggest supporters and that let people exercise their choice. The people who ask women to look feminine and beautiful  for their partners are considered as chauvinist .

Expecting women to be feminine and beautiful at standards that media projects is wrong. Can't compare normal women to photo shopped perfections or even women who require perfect looks for a living. These women spend a huge amount of money on trainers, surgeons and make up professionals....which normal  women don't.

Even otherwise, women are expected to put in effort into their looks more than men.

My post was regarding special occasions like engagements and weddings. A guy can at least put some effort here.

My husband even refused to wear a sehra and turban for our wedding while I was dressed and decked up like Bharat Mata.

People had to be told 'woh cute wala ladka  dulhah hai'.

That is why I feel:wall: when I see the girl all decked up and the guy putting in minimum effort for such occasions.
