Malcolm Merlyn Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 BCCI has decided to host a shortened version of the IPL overseas every September, starting this year. Shared via NDTV News App http://ndtv.com/apps sourab10forever and tweaker 2
philcric Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 Interesting to see how it pans out. If it succeeds, it'd be a good boost to the IPL brand globally. SA, England and UAE are the convenient venues because of the time zones relative to IST. Aus, NZ and WI would be difficult. A couple of ideas to try. Add 1-2 host nation players to each squad just for that leg of the tournament. 1 mandatory player from the host nation in every playing XI. Might make it more interesting for the audiences of the host nation.

Baggygreen786 Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 Well 8 teams for no more than 2 weeks not Fun anymore, Dose not matter where they plays. Some people do not wants IPL in india so they Found reason of Draught. Why no one oppose in the past,i never seen IPL live in Australia http://www.cricbuzz.com/cricket-news/80816/mini-ipl-board-of-control-for-cricket-in-india-to-conduct-mini-indian-premier-league-in-september
sandeep Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 I guess this is a replacement for that T20 champions league tournament? If yes, its a good move. September timeframe means they can play in UAE or South Africa, and realistically in UK/USA as well.
sourab10forever Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 I don't know why they have planned it like this.. First have a crunched Intl T20 season early in the year. Then IPL. Now a months gap between Zim tour and WI tour when no players are common between the two tours. And then again crunched with mini IPL ,NZ's tour, ENGs tour , Bangladesh Test, and then AUS's tour.
sourab10forever Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 What about the tours that are already planned? Ireland and Australia tour of SA AUS tour of SL And Pak tour of ENG (although this one doesn't matter much) And No point in playing D/N dulleep Trophy if Indian senior players don't play....
Temujin Khaghan Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 do it in USA... like New York... buy land...build a high level cricket stadium... also they can host 2-3 annual bilateral series between India and Australia/England etc...

And then slowly start conquering areas with an army armed with bats and balls and then soon the whole USA will be under out control . Kaboom.

Green with envy perhaps but might be green for some other reason. My advise for you dont hide behind some other country come out for who you are, people might take notice then of what you have to say and engage you. Else its just noise. sourab10forever, zen and Ironhide 3
sandeep Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 I dont think he's trying too hard to mask himself with that 786 thrown in there
