Neverthless seems to be a good talent and West Indies will only gain by investing in him. I hope he doesnt sit on bench specially on Jamaica pitch, Come on West indies give some competition tweaker 1

Great bouncer. He has only played 8 first class matches till now and has picked up 24 wickets including 2 five wicket hauls. Good talent for WI. tweaker 1

In domestics, he has only bowled around 12 overs an innings. He will likely have to bowl 16+ overs twice in the match. If they play him, they should include Kemar Roach to play as the 2nd pacer along with Gabriel, and let Joseph have a limited workload as the 3rd. Mosher and express bowling 2

Yeah Roach would have been a decent pick in this inexperienced bowling attack. But I think he was dropped for his poor performance in Australia. Tibarn 1

Yes, they left Roach out of their 14 man squad, and their only other pacer is Cummins, who also hasn't debuted yet. Neither Brathwaite nor Holder looked effective bowling in the first test, so they need to give Joseph a green/bouncy pitch if they are going to select him. Although, if they make a green pitch, I'm sure our pacers will have their tails up. express bowling 1
express bowling Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Alzari Joseph was mostly bowling 130 k to 138 k in the u19 world cup with an occasional delivery at around 140 k in some matches. While that was the quickest among the u19 guys, it would be normal pace for test matches. There is the question of maintaining pace also in the longer format. Joseph gets good bounce though. Like an earlier poster said...why not Kemar Roach ? He has test experience, decent pace and did play in one of the practice matches.

maniac Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Atleast something to look forward too from the WI side of things.....Joseph,Gabriel add Roach and Bishoo to the mix.....it would be a decent bowling line up......Holder and Barthwaite are better than their existing specialist batsman anyways so they can play too Mosher and tweaker 2
