rkt.india Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 For me, every match matters even if it is against Afghanistan. Every loss makes you lose points and ranking. Ranking is as important as winning any tournament.

Might take day off in case India wins. sandeep 1

We need atleast Bhuvi, Ish,Yadav,Shami fit and available for each game BK only bowled 27 overs in the game. so, playing 2 seamers didnt matter at all. Shami bowled 36 overs in the game. New guy 1

I can understand your point. But bowler can put in extra if captain tell him in advance, say a Kohli tells BK that Give me all you got, I will only bowl you with new ball and morning. and then later asking him bowl couple of more overs during day as he ran out of options. 3 pacers would have allways helped. as Shami could have just bowled 30 overs and BK around 20 overs

Vilander Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 priority order should be probably like this. 1, Test mace 2, WC 3, Any test match that is a dead rubber with limited point impact. 3, WT20 4,Multilateral series LOI Finals,ICC event LOI 5,Multilateral series LOI 6,Bilateral LOI series deciders 7,Bilateral LOI express bowling and sscomp32 2
sscomp32 Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 @express bowling Even thought you quoted before i edited. If i had to debate i wouldn't have edited my post. I have decided not to post/reply anything related to MSD. There is absolutely no point in doing here. Just because it was you i decided to reply but changed my mind. Sorry.

No one literally cares about test mace in real world .Winning a test series abroad (AUS/Sa/Eng) but these rankings and test maces are as meaningless as it can get

Just because it was you i decided to reply but changed my mind. Sorry. ss bhai.... I always value your opinion, so you are welcome to discuss any player with me, although I may not agree with all your points. In that particular post, I was not really talking about MSD but the need to rest our only all-condition pacer in test matches - Shami - as we have a long test season ahead of us. Guys like Bumrah and Dhawal may do a good job in ODIs ( both have excellent stats ) but it won't be possible in test matches. The reference to MSD came because Ankit referred to another post where I had stated Dhoni's performance as a captain in ODIs in the last 3 years. I am a great believer ( whether wrongly or rightly ) about performances in the last 2 or 3 years along with recent ability and form, whether as a captain or a player. If you remember, I also stated in an earlier thread that MSD has a very good SR of 146 or thereabouts in T20Is in the last 2 years. Although his overall SR is not that good, he still deserves to play in T20Is now because of this reason. He has also won the Asia Cup as captain in T20I in the last year and defeated Australia. These are pluses. But it is the opposite as a captain in ODIs in the last 3 years and this needs to be taken into account. CT 13 was more than 3 years ago. For the same reason, I am not too eager to play Umesh Yadav in ODIs as we have seen pacers in ODIs who are bowling better than him in recent times, like Bumrah, and Sran. Previously, we had pacers like Mohit and Ishant who were as bad or as good as Umesh in ODIs. You don't have to agree with me or reply to this.... but I just clarified what was being discussed. I am really wondering WC definitely important. Test mace after winning in AUS/RSA would be sweeter than a home WC for sure, a WC won in the other side now that may be less sweeter too in comparison to test mace after winning in Aus/RSA.
