Things change...I didn't predict on luck but on various acumen factors...

India did win 2 of the tests as I predicted-Check 100% accuracy

I predicted 2 draws-already 1 draw and Chennai test might be a draw-check-At this point 100% accuracy

Now I predicted 1 win for England-they almost won the 1st test and have sa chance to win the final test-check-ALmost 100% accuracy

India’s victory over England in the five-match test series is historic and will long be remembered. This is India’s biggest series win over England ever, overshadowing the 3-0 whitewash under Mohammad Azharuddin’s captaincy in 1993.

 

Here are some of the key feats and milestones achieved.

 

• India took eight years to defeat England in a series. The hosts had lost to England in the 2008-09 tour of India by 0-1 and two other series.

 

• With this victory, India also became the first country and fourth team overall to defeat England with a 4-0. Earlier, only West Indies, Australia, and South Africa could do that.

 

• India’s 4-0 victory in a test series is also its second, after the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2012-13.

 

• Indian test captain Virat Kohli also set a new record by remaining undefeated for 18 consecutive tests. The previous record of 17 is under former captain Kapil Dev’s captaincy between 1985-1987.

 

• Virat Kohli became the first Indian captain to register three double centuries in a calendar year when he scored 235 in the first innings of the 4th test match in Mumbai. He also became the 13th Indian fielder to complete 50 catches or more in tests.

 

• Virat Kohli’s series tally of 655 runs is the second time he had crossed 600 runs in a test series. Before him, only Sunil Gavaskar and Rahul Dravid have achieved the honour.

 

• India’s 759/7 in the Chennai test is also the highest-ever team score in test.

 

• Overall, it is India’s fourth occasion of scoring more than 700 runs, twice against Sri Lanka (726, 707), and once against Australia (705).

 

• The innings run-rate of 3.98 is the quickest for India in all of its 700-plus scores.

 

• This is the sixth time that England has conceded 700 or more runs in an innings. But, this is the maximum score made by any team against England in their test history.

 

• The four partnerships of hundred runs in India’s innings in the Chennai test is also the tenth occasion in the Test history for any team. This was achieved by India earlier once in 1979 against West Indies at Kanpur.

 

• Only four times a team has ever scored 600 or more in consecutive test innings. India’s 631 at Mumbai followed by 759 at Chennai is preceded by three other instances by Australia (against England in 1946), West Indies (Against India in 1948) and India (against Sri Lanka in 2009).

 

• Alastair Cook is the tenth batsman to complete 11,000 runs in tests. The English captain has taken the least time from his test debut — 10 years and 290 days. Cook is the youngest batsman to accomplish the feat.

 

• Four English batsmen have amassed 1,000 runs or more this year in tests – Moeen Ali, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow and Alastair Cook. The team accomplished a similar feat in 2006 when Kevin Pietersen, Paul Collingwood, Andrew Strauss, and Alastair Cook, each scored more than 1,000 runs.

 

• Lokesh Rahul is the ninth batsman and the second Indian after Mohammad Azharuddin to be dismissed on 199.

 

• Karun Nair became the only third batsman to convert his maiden century into triple behind Sir Gary Sobers (365) and Bob Simpson (311).

 

• Nair is only the fourth player to score a triple behind Sir Don Bradman, Michael Clarke and Brendon McCullum – coming in at no. 5. No other batsmen coming lower than 5 has ever scored a triple.

 

• Ravichandran Ashwin scored 306 runs in the series and picked up 28 wickets becoming the second Indian player to complete the double of 250 runs and 25 wickets in the series.
