Day 4 Predictions - India vs England - 2nd test

India all out with a lead of 465

England 120-3

hmm  think it will be a much more bowling friendly day

 

India lead of 380 all out with Kohli 80. 

 

England 200 for 6

and i think Kohli and Ash are probably going to decide how the day plays out. I see major issues for India on this deck without Kohli at the crease. He is scoring runs at a good pace which takes its toll on the English bowlers and allows our other batters to survive.

 

Feel rahane still needs 2-3 innings to hit form. He is scratching around atm

If C & VC get past the first 30 minutes, we should be good to go.   I think a lead of 400 should win the game - 350 or less is gettable for the Pommies - sure there's a bit of low bounce, but the track is not a minefield, not turning that much either.  

 

Prediction?  Lead of 432, England 110/4 @ stumps.

Yes, If we keep lead just around 400, that will have negative impact on our bowlers and they will be under immense pressure and if they do leak few runs later on day 4, England could be needing just 250 on last day. Our bowlers might then ask for defensive field which will impact on the game result. 450 lead for me is must to be in comfort zone and thus will give our bowlers lot of cushion to attack.

450 lead seems a bit ungettable for us - it's around 150 more. Kohli will fail at some point as will Ashwin (law of averages). Rahane is the key if he can overcome that scratchiness. I don't have much confidence in Saha surprisingly, but Jaddu may be able to hit a quick 20 or 30. I think that a lead of around 400-410 seems more realistic.

I agree but you know, sometimes in order to get early wickets, bowlers tend to try too much. So unless England bowlers get Kohli or Rahane out early in first hour, India must surely get another 150 runs. I hope they are thinking of playing first half an hour with caution as that can help get to that 450 run mark. Very important to have 450 for our bowlers to bowl with free mind.

With our bowlers, even 450 is not impossible...think of THAT test against SA in SA.
