Mariyam Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 I was scrolling through the Cricket Talk section and happened to chance upon some of those predict the team threads. To my surprise I found no mention of Dhoni in any of the team lists. Instead of posting an interrogative and risking online ridicule, I look this up on the net only to find that Dhoni has retired from test cricket nearly 2 years ago. Dhonis is probably my favourite cricketer of all time. I probably even read about his retirement, but it just happened to slip my mind. The point I'm trying to make is: Have we become indifferent to the general happenings in and around the Indian cricket team? Those small bilateral tournaments used to matter once upon a time. These days its only the world cups and the IPL that matter. Hardly any chatter on this test series that I pick up anywhere. And this is in Bombay, the cricketing Mecca of India. Does anyone else feel the same? Or projection much on my part? tweaker 1
fineleg Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 (edited) Follow test cricket pls! and visit ICF more - get some time allowance from Mr. Mariyam to post with us here On a more serious note - I think all of ICF and most other "sorta cricket fans" outside ICF seem to know MSD retired (and do remember it), so I think it is kind of one-off that you forgot. If you cross certain age you might think cricket has gone extinct if you look at social media. Actually it still has lot of enthusiasm. Mariyam and tweaker 2
