He ability to bowl at high pace but for that u need to maintain ur fitness levels. He took the easy way and became line n length bowler yet he didnt concentrate much on his fitness and result suffered. Once Akram rightly said about him- how can he give the impression of being India's fastest bowler when he runs in like a 50 yr old man. I wont be scared at all as a batsman. Newer bowlers came on the scene who were fitter and quicker and these guys were same ......unfit and liabilities on field. Also IPL Made them more lazy New guy and Mosher 2

Late Cut Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 It looked like none of the teams did any scouting and just showed up with a list they thought would be "cool" players. 40% of the bids made no sense for the specific team needs what so ever. Heck, the most over payed players won't even be playing the whole tournament.

Just dismissed the work ethic of guys like Ishant and Irfan. I think that's grossly inaccurate and harsh. As the Guj team owner politely pointed out - some players are a better fit for other formats, and form is a consideration. Absolutely no need to insult players that you didn't think fit your team needs. The Pune owners in general have demonstrated their idiocy consistently. From their team "name" to uniforms to team selections earlier and this time around - the captaincy decision - stupidity and tastelessness on the "branding" front, and lack of cricket understanding and reactive thinking on the cricket front. Easily the worst team in IPL. I personally believe if one of these IPL teams signs up Irfan, they will get a motivated player who will be pissed and determined to prove a few folks wrong. He's an under-rated bat in this format in particular, and an experienced handy bowler as well. i am pretty sure both Ishant and Irfan will be signedup, particularly Irfan..there is a way for it am i right but it will be base price ?

Have you followed any Aussie cricket or even Big Bash or anything? Henriques is miles better than Pathan as a batsman. He even made it to Aussie squad recently albeit many players were out to India meanwhile Pathan is no where near Indian squad.
Soorma_Bhopali Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 One of the Cricinfo articles quoted someone from Ranji circuit who said that in hushed tones, Irfan was started to be referred as Jan to June player ...his performances become good just before IPL and taper off post June in the domestic season . So, it may be that Sanjiv Goenka may have a point . maniac, Ironhide and Ankit_sharma03 3
