What is KUMBLE's role here?

How can the team fall to spin when your head coach is one of the spin legends. Baffles me to no end. This is inexcusable. What is Kumble doing other than taking pictures in his DSLR & earning a fat paycheck? Seriously? In every day life, this kind of team performance gets managers fired.

He is not going to teach them how to spin within a month or two. These have to be learned while you play FC and will take some time. You can go back to the nets and work on technique if you have some flaws but that's about it.

Kumble was hardly a great player of spin so how can he teach these batsmen to play spin.

 

 

The question is why don't we have a quality batting ,fast bowling or fielding coach .

 

 

The current ones are nonames pretty much.Is he afraid of him autonomy or BCCI idiots overruling for some reason ?

 

 

I mean why can't they ask VVS or Dravid to work as a batting consultant for a few series and address the issues against spin.

 

 

This struggle against spin wasn't a new one either.

Kumble wasnt a batsman, we can blame if he coach was dravid, gavaskar or laxman 

n even in those case its not entirely right. They can tell all the things ultimately players have to execute

By the time you have reached international level you should more or less be the finished product. Any coaching at this stage can only tinker at the margins or help with mental preparation. Players have to take responsibility for their own performances and the current lot are the worst v spin in decades.

 

That said Kumble brings nothing new to the party & struggle to see what if any impact he has made. Clear conflict of interest with his trundler talent agency does not help either.

Loosers need a spin batting coach. Any two bit past Indian batsman would do actually no need to bother Ganguly or Sehwag. Actually bring Gambhir and Pappu Patel into middle order.
