King Tendulkar Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 Bowl them out for under 250 kohli ton we win Aussies hot favs though
sensible-indian Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 (edited) Yesterday Rahul said Ashwin will run through Aus. Today Pujara says if we get them out for 25-30 runs, we are still in the game and that we bowled well today. Embarrassing. But then what can he say in a presser. We need a moment of magic by someone to galvanize the team. Like Cook's 100 in Ahmedabad. With all being said, is it possible that maybe maybe maybe the wicket is getting a bit easier (except for the variable bounce part) and Aus applied a LOT better? Pujara seems to be claiming that the wicket is getting a bit easier. Kya din aagaye where we have to clutch at straws to avoid defeat at home. Edited March 5, 2017 by sensible-indian philcric 1

I thought we bowled good. If we had taken our catches and referred that edge which was proven on snicko it's a different ball game.
speedheat Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 Yes pujju is right game is nicely poised here get starck as fast as possible tomorrow and pendulum will shift
coffee_rules Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 lead goes beyond 100, it is a mental block..scoreboard pressure will make batsmen make mistakes

So far they've been outplayed every single day of the Test series.

If we had taken our catches and referred that edge which was proven on snicko it's a different ball game. First of all, its true that these press conference statements are just statements. Doesn't matter what players say (right or wrong) cos what happens in ground only counts. With that being said, ever since the series has started, if you look at our press conference of our players, there is a misplaced sense of positivity no matter what the situation. Of course, this doesn't mean our players have to lament our performances in pressers but sometimes keeping it real and honest would look nice. Again, Pujara is not the captain so he has to be diplomatic and paint a nice picture so I understand it. As for his statement, to hope that if we get the opposition team for another 25-30 runs is all a case of talking about the very best scenarios. And claiming that the pitch being easier in a presser also heavy optimism (though that could happen but I wouldn't say that in a presser when my team is under pump). Also for Pujara to say point blank that our bowlers bowled well is a bit disingenuous. Yes, our pacers bowled well. No questions about that. However our spinners weren't upto the mark. Jaddu was unlucky to not have been given more overs but he too couldn't extract the life that Aussie spinners did (still took 3 wickets though) and Ashwin after the morning spell was mostly iffy from a wicket taking point of view (barring the odd over here and there). As for luck, yes we were unlucky but think about it this way. Australian batsmen applied better so their lucky calls stand out so much. In the England series, Indian bats applied very well and put so much pressure that luck (drop catches) favoured us. In the same series, England's batting was terribly lucky too but we simply created more chances so it didn't matter. If we were doing many things right and a few crucial calls go against us, it would be painful. But in this test, it doesn't even matter. And this is coming from a guy who felt we were really unlucky in Pune. Edited March 5, 2017 by sensible-indian
