Du Plessis surprised neither Virat Kohli nor Steven Smith were charged in Bengaluru DRS-incident

Asked for his reaction on the Kohli-Smith affair, du Plessis said he would have preferred to see the ICC deal his two opposite numbers a stronger hand. "I was [surprised that no one was charged] purely from the reason of what I went through for something I feel was a lot smaller and a lot less... whatever you want to call it. So yes, surprised with that," du Plessis said, after South Africa drew with New Zealand in Dunedin.

"Us and New Zealand are very similar in the way we play," du Plessis said. "We respect each other on and off the field and we play a similar brand of cricket. We don't see that the way you carry on off the field will have an effect on the outcome. When you play a team like India and Australia that can happen and it's easy to see how that can blow up. For me it has been good to be on the other side for a bit and to see how things unfold. It would have been interesting to see how the Australian media would have reacted to me doing that."

CA and BCCI have had some sort of backdoor settlement. Smith was caught red-handed. Both boards have overtly moved on, though the Aussies have relegated themselves to taking sly digs at India.

Even if Starc plays the next two tests, he is not going to be of a threat.

I agree with du Plessis here.. Smith should have been punished for cheating. Kohli should realize he's an adult and stop his motor mouth once in a while.

There's just too much emphasis has been given on Kohli's sledging. What about Wade, Warner and Starc. Its just that our media or the board is very poor in highlighting the shenanigans done by the opposition players. CA has succeeded in shifting the focus from Smith's cheating.

There's video evidence of Handscomb telling Smith to look at the dressing room for help with DRS. Smith did the same. Handscomb, Smith and Aussie coaches (David Saker and Lehman) all have agreed the same. Looks like Kohli's statements have more than been backed up by evidence.

Du Plessis the serial ball tamperer should stop speaking about ethics and justice. Biggest fraud in world cricket who was caught multiple times tampering the ball with video proof. Notice Steyn's bowling after RSA were exposed by the media?

Agree with DuPlessis. Smith should've been charged by ICC and punished accordingly. If DuPlessis can be sanctioned for ball tampering doing something that happens regularly in every other match, surely there should be stricter sanctions for Smith, Handscomb and company who were caught with their pants down while cheating and have admitted as much.
