Many can be better captain than Kohli, but you got to score runs to be captain and Gambhir did not and hence he was dropped. Captaincy, anyways is overated as 80% of the time it doesn't matter. We give too much credit to captains on victories, be it Kohli, Dhoni or Steve Waugh or Ponting etc. Similarly, too much negative is spread over a captain and they are always wrongly blamed when the team is not doing well. It is not their fault all the time that bunch of grown ups in the team fail to impress or stand up to the occasion.
