SK_IH
Continue their gutless spineless performances away from the comfort of home conditions. They were appaling in India last from 2nd test onwards and have been poorer this tour. This loss at Perth was eerily similar to Mumbai last year, 400 runs in 1st innings and still a loss by an innings. Now they have the honor of losing 3 games by an innings after scoring 400 plus in 1st innings in period of 12 months.Thats an amazing feat , highlighting their one dimensional hapless bowling attack. Add to that a defeat against Windies at home and 2-2 result against Pakistan, what a pedesterian test side The Dark Horse, Gollum, express bowling and 1 other 4 Link to comment
SK_IH
Cook and Root have proved to be quite ordinary and Broad n Anderson continue to prove their superb records are mainly thanks to english summers sandeep 1 Link to comment
chapetmarunga
Root has a bad record in Aus, but Aus does have a great bowling attack Link to comment
mishra
Well, 3-0 scoreline doesnt reflect the brave fight Anderson Woakes gave in second test and Malan/Bairstow in third test. Third test should have been draw if Ali Bhai and rest of tail would have shown some common sense. 5-368 (DJ Malan, 106.5 ov), 6-372 (MM Ali, 107.2 ov), 7-389 (CR Woakes, 110.5 ov), 8-389 (JM Bairstow, 111.2 ov), 9-393 (C Overton, 112.6 ov), 10-403 (SCJ Broad, 115.1 ov) Over all, Cook is liability. Root is no captain. Without Stokes this English team can not win. Link to comment
SK_IH
what happened to the logic of aus producing flat tracks, this was flat track, adelaide was flat and gabba had no demons, was just a typical quick wicket but seems english players cant play pace Link to comment
mishra
^ I think question marks about Cook should have been raised when Lankans visited them in 2016. Its just that ECB choose to ignore that. All they did was ask him to hand over the cap. To me, Root is not as aggressive as a captain should be sandeep 1 Link to comment

I fear they will lose 0-5 here, lose in NZ, lose against Pak and then get their **** together just before we tour there, similar to 2014. Link to comment

bowl_out
Why is this so surprising.. Every team is a home track bully these days.. Pretty sure next year we'll see threads like "Poor cricket from Australia" when Aus tour England. nevada 1 Link to comment

This Adelaide pitch had grass and was not that easy from day one as it was in 2014. Regarding pace and bounce, no. Not all Aussie pitches have pace and bounce and pace and bounce is not too easy to handle at that pace. Same way we expect swing in England, still batsmen struggle. we expect seam movement in SA and still batsmen struggle. same way, we know there will be pace and bounce in Aus, still batsmen struggle. Last time when we toured, there was only one pitch that that had pace and bounce, Gabba, and our batsmen struggled there. Gabba mostly is an easy track on day one and then it progressively becomes pacier and bouncier from the day 2 onward. Link to comment
maniac
English team definitely missed Ben Stokes and even someone like Alex Hales who could have set the tone for them.....they have too many one-dimensional players in the side....in fact even the bowling. Link to comment
nevada
5-0 is looking imminent. Given the pathetic track records of most teams away from home, I think test series locations should be split between both countries. The location of the deciding match ( 3rd, 5th etc) can be decided based on toss or ranking points or whatever seems practical. Link to comment
