Dhoni unfairly targeted Viru, Gambo and SRT in 2012 CB series, publicly humiliated those 3 and eventually chucked them out. Never forget what this SOB did to our legends. Probably if not for the public humiliation, they wouldn't have declined so fast and would have regained their mojo. And also used a full movie to replay that scene and further insult players 10x better than he ever has been.

i remember the farce rotation of openers in that tournamrent but i thought premise was right , their fielding was a liability and new players had to be introduced in lois

Ok that he removed them. But hypocrisy by him and his fan is shameless. Dhoni hanging onto T20s contributing nothing. He just like old greats isn't ready to retire from ODIs even if he is already way past it. His fan says he will leave on his own deal with it. These are the same hypocrites who sing songs of greatness of Dhoni for putting team ahead individuals by throwing out oldie greats.

Virat has defended (actually given strong support) in Dhoni selection. Yes, some facts by Prasad are true. Dhoni now is best keeper now for stumpings and the other keepers in contention are not up to the mark. The other keepers are too bad for international level. I have seen them keep, they are pathetic and none of them are up to the mark.Just because someone is young does not means he is better keeper than Dhoni.

The problem though is the assurance that Dhoni has been given. Does it means however bad form he will get into, he will still be a automatic pick as a wk batsman? It is a baffling statement. The players should not be selected if they are in prolonged bad form, at least for the WC as we will have to wait for another 4 years to win it. So the best and in form must play. It's not Ind SL series which can play soon and win few months down the line.

Bhaisaab can you let us know the names of these pathetic wk and where did you watch them? IPL? Domestics? Apart from stumpings, there is absolutely nothing that separates other wk from Dhoni.

I beg to differ, at no point of their careers were they bad fielders. Moreover their poor form was over stated by media. SRT was ok in that test series and Viru/Gambo had a couple of years left in their tanks. Those 3 were used as scapegoats by that cunning Dhoni to hide the dismal overall show by Team India across all formats overseas.

Present (post 2015 WC) Dhoni in ODIs  is worse than what Viru-SRT-Gambo were in 2012. In T20s he has been a liablilty from day one. But his hypocrite chamchas extol his selflessness and virtue, if he were really selfless he would have stepped down from T20s in 2012 max and from ODIs after the 2015 WC. But for him Team India comes last, this mug is using Team India to increase his brand value. He is as bad as Azharuddin.

Well his chamchas have said he's in the team for his pitch inspection and now behold I am told he's a wk first so we have a specialist wk in t20s.

1. Dhoni can be there in ODIs but not T20s.

2. However good Dhoni might be now, he's still 36. The selectors backing him till 2019 is crazy as there's still a lot of time. A prudent selector would take his performance series by series, but then can't expect it here.

According to some some sources his actual age is circa 40...

All those 3 were rubbish by that time.

Dhoni fairly targeted them keeping in mind the future. Actually Dhoni had to target Sehwag and Gambo because he couldn't openly throw out Sachin so he turned it into a group issue.

Now there is no one to fairly target Dhoni. Instead Kohli and Rohit are fawning over him.

Everyone from Sachin, Sehwag, Gambo, Yuvi had to be begged, pleaded and coaxed to leave. Yuvi and Gambo still not retired. Lol. Even Laxman was no saint. Was telling the team he would retire after Aus series but shamelessly got ready for the NZ home series.

No not unfairely

Those guys were woefully out of form also they were becoming liabilities in field. Dhoni is still an asset behind stumps

Dravid was living on borrowed time too considering he had a woeful couple of years before that amazing Eng series followed by the Aus series where he kept getting bowled. But yes, we can say it was graceful of him to retire that way.

He has done enough to be in the ODI team. However, giving him a free reign till the world cup suggests clearly that either the selectors are plain foolish or they have an agenda. Not just Dhoni, noones place is secure. With Dhoni, it's more because age is on the higher side.

yes , but in practical ways its only a year left so if ur main player gets out of form he wud be backed not dropped

The core team doesnt change one year prior to the WC
