didnt Kohli accept Kumble picked by the same CAC. Kohli wanted Shashtri but Shashtri was not sure if he will get the job so he did not even apply.  They delayed the selection so that Shastri could apply. Kumble's tenure was just one year.  Kohli did not kick Kumble neither he could have kicked him if his tenure was not over.  Once his tenure was over, Kohli wanted a new coach selection.  Kumble had also applied in that selection process along with Shashtri and others, even tom moody did but SRT had already assured Shastri and Kohli also wanted Shastri. So, it happened.

Anyway a captain who is in outfield will always depend on others for DRS likes WK, slip fielder, bowler, etc.  There is no rocket science in it.  We have seen other captains also take horrible DRS calls.

if a captain is a good outfielder, he does field at the boundary. Steve Smith also does that, Williamson too.

It doesn't matter what SRT wanted. If Kohli is captain and wants shastri then that's what matters. Stop kidding me now. Even When Dhoni/Dada was captain he used to choose his players, back them & also choose coach which they wanted. You are just trying to find reason to insert SRT's name somehow in dead end story.

Clearly you see Dhoni and Rohit talking to the bowlers. Earlier it used to be only Dhoni but these days see Rohit more involved( no conspiracy here just general observation). The bottom line still being Kohli is not that proactive in LOIs. He is more busy playing to the cameras.

They hardly do that. C’mon man. You are just defending Kohli for the heck of it. In fact both Williamson and Smith are more like back ward point fielders. They are that good in the inner circle.

If SRT had not assured Shastri, he would not have applied.  Cant you understand this simple thing? Same Kohli accepted Kumble as well.  it is not like Kohli did not want Kumble from day one. They just did not get along in that one year tenure and that resulted in Kumble not getting another term.  Neither Kumble was kicked out.  His tenure of one year was over.

But again if SRT asks shastri to reapply and gets picked only and only due to SRT as per you then why kohli didn't kick shastri till now? Kohli looks like is happy with him compared to kumble? Now don't tell me that SRT is putting gun on kohli and forcing him to play with shastri.

abey how does it matter whether Kohli kick him or not.  Kohli had a good rapport with him but he would not have been there if not for SRT.

It was SRT who put his weight behind bewda. Ganguly was against him.

Next time he applied only after getting a firm yes from SRT.

Fine SRT is reason we have cheerleader but is SRT playing or captain right now? I know shastri is useless and if captain kohli don't know then it's all his problem. He wants Shastri to be there with him till Worldcup. If Kohli wants he can kick both Shastri & Dhoni but he can't cause he needs both of them. Now If Dhoni is useless these days doesn't mean you will blame the selectors who selected dhoni first time? SRT can surely have his own choice but if there is ganguly in part of selection then obviously sachin will listen to him too. Kohli surely was big part behind selection of Shastri. Ganguly knows to play politics and if he knew only sachin is reason for selecting shastri then he would have done something for sure but if kohli wanted shastri then there is no way ganguly could have stopped it.
