I hope I think the thinking is that he's really good against wrist-spin, and can be the dependable guy who can do the accumulator job and bat big at a reasonable pace, if we lose 2-3 early. But if Dhoni is in the team already, maybe we don't need 2 accumulators in addition to Virat in the top 7? Especially if Rohit is going to bat 'safe' upfront? profster 1 Link to comment

Two similar kind of bats can’t work. They wanted to take one of Gambhir and Kohli for wc2011 but it made sense to keep both as both were diff kind and one of them was southpaw. Here both are sucking the blood out and batting in similar fashion. I would take Dhoni any day over Rayudu. And since we know anyway that Dhoni is going to be in the squad, we really can replace Rayudu with someone else. I am glad to see Karthik playing today. I feel this guy is batting at his best and we can use him in the world cup for at least 5-6 games if not all. He can be a brilliant finisher. The Dark Horse and profster 2 Link to comment
