New Delhi: Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on Tuesday night witnessed clashes between two student groups over Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru, who was hanged on February 09, 2013 in Tihar Jail.

The incident happened after a group of students organised a programme and termed the hanging of the Parliament attack convict as "judicial killing”.

The students allegedly shouted slogans hailing 'Shaeed Afzal Guru' and also chanted anti-India slogans. They also expressed solidarity with "struggle" of Kashmiri migrants and advocated for 'Azad Kashmir'.

Notably, the university authorities had not give permission to hold any programme supporting Afzal Guru as they "feared" the same might "disrupt" peace on campus.

Student organisers had pasted posters across the campus inviting them to gather for a protest march against "judicial killing of Afzal Guru" and in solidarity with "struggle" of Kashmiri migrants, at varsity's Sabarmati dhaba.

Members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) affiliated ABVP objected to such a program and complained to the Vice Chancellor.

However, when the other group didn't relent and went ahead with the event, the ABVP supporters went ahead and protested, which led to the scuffle between the two student groups.

The authorities later called the police in order to restore law and order in the campus.

JNU VC Jagdeesh Kumar told PTI, “Earlier we were told that it is going to be a cultural programme. When I got to know that it is a protest, we decided to cancel the programme as it is administration's responsibility to ensure peace and calm on campus.”

And then these people claim that Modi is creating intolerance

Leaders cutting across party lines and World over coming in support of the protesting Left aligned JNU students... Leaders like Rahul Gandhi, Anand Sharma, KC Tyagi, D Raja, S. Yechuri, Arvind Kejriwal and Hafiz Sayeed... All working for the 'common goal'... :nice:

Well of course, birds of a feather flock together :agree:.

Blood boils listening to some of the slogans. Seriously what kind of dumbasses would take the side of these radicals. These guys should be imprisoned straight away. In US they would have been sent straight to gallows.  Arnab cooled me down a bit with his utter destruction of these radicals.

a. Many in Ind do not like these folks from J&K because they are anti-Ind

b. Many in J&K do not like rest of Ind for not allowing them to do whatever they please including getting rid of non-Muslims and turning Kashmir in to an Islamic State, with an eventual goal to do Jihad against Ind. These elements justify all actions and hatred against Ind. Such type of thinking against Ind should never have been allowed to develop in the first place

Half baked measures by Ind to tackle these elements / issues will only help to fuel hatred and justify their mission against Ind. Unfortunately, it appears as if Ind is heading in to a situation where it would need to take stern steps against these elements

Ind would need adapt a strategic approach and do some of following:

* Divide J&K in to 3 independent state / UT - Kashmir, Jammu and Ladak. This would help to isolate the troublemakers in the Kashmir valley

* Pass laws that make it illegal to raise flags and shout slogans of enemy countries and terrorist organizations. Helping enemy nation is out of question

* Make it absolutely clear that countries like Pak are not stakeholders in that region. Only pending issue is getting the land illegally occupied by Pak. Kashmir including PoK are territories of India

* Ban the use of religious places for anti-national activities and separatist groups. It should be made absolutely clear that anything anti-Ind is not acceptable and illegal

* Connecting Islam with Kashmir should not be encouraged. Ind is secular and it is not acceptable to treat people of other religions unfairly by the Muslim majority in Kashmir

Many of the Jihadis or militants are teenagers and young adults who probably don't even know what they are getting in to. They get brain washed at an early age so Ind needs to adapt a policy to educate everyone in the region

From the video, it appears as if many in the Kashmir think it is fashionable and being Robin Hood like to be against a secular India, and following Islam is connected with freedom of Kashmir

In part the Kashmir problem is still on after all these years is because the politicians have been busy making money to worry about important matters

Well its a never ending problem unless a full scale war break out and pakistan convincingly defeated like like Germany and Japan in 1945.Islamic brotherhood is too strong , you can suppress them for time being but they will rise again and again
