Cant make an all format combined squad, every format has diff requirements

i disagree with it. Every era had different requirements. For instance in Gavaskar's era  opener's role was to play out the new ball and then score runs .But in the current era it is to score  as much as possible during field restrictions in general.

Having said that I would say one thing  that  we can't make a combined squad by selecting the best player for each format. For instance  I selected Gavaskar as opener despite the fact that Ganguly was a better ODI opener than him.

Any way  my criteria is to select the best 11 players who can fit as possible as it can into a team for  both formats combined. That's all.

His bowling performance was boosted by ball tampering.

for sure ....his bowling credentials have  taken a severe beating off late  in the minds of lots of fans who believe in integrity, honesty, fair play etc etc

I too does not place him above Kapil  as an over all  allrounder . For that matter , even with out tampering  they were in the same league as all rounders for me.  But still, do not he deserve a place as the 2nd all rounder in the team?

Also do not  Jadeja with a sub 25 bowl avg: after  49 tests   deserve  a place in the eleven. His batting credentials & brilliant fielding adds to his claim too..

With Kapil in team as pure all rounder and Dhoni as weeket keeper + batsman, I would go for specialists in remaining nine places. Jadeja cannot replace Bedi and Chandra in my team on purely bowling skills.

Breach the 500 barrier.

haha thats a fantasy many teams have had forgetting the basic rule that every batsman needs sometime to get in

u can play as many batsman as u want but at the end its just 300 balls

Quote

Yuvraj, Sachin, Kohli can serve 10-15 overs.

kohli cant give 2-3 overs

Sachin n yuvi were part timers and part timers start to loose control after a point, in subcontinent possible but outside not possible . Current rules anyways are nightmares for part timers
