Ofcourse. What is this "independent" director? Will she come from Mars? Or will she be from a country on earth?Because if she is,she is likely to vote along with her country.I bet she will be from england or Australia. sandeep 1 Link to comment
Malcolm Merlyn
There is no option for the BCCI but to pull out.Or remain and become a baord with a begging bowl and lick the boots of the white boards. JaFanatic, Gollum and Vilander 3 Link to comment
Austin 3:!6
Pulling out from Champions trophy so late is not an option. ICC will charge a huge fine on BCCI if this happens. The only realistic way to protest will be to send our B team (or even C/D teams). It will fulfill the commitment of playing in the tournament as well as reduce public interest which will make CT a flop tournament. Link to comment

Cricinfo already posted an article on that - see separate thread. New guy 1 Link to comment

It requires 14 days of notice though. Edited April 26, 2017 by horizonspeaks New guy 1 Link to comment

In fact, now they have come out smelling like roses, having successfully painted BCCI as the villain. True Machiavellians. Arrogant board got what it deserved. Not really arrogant but bad timing. Indian Supreme Court sidelined most of the BCCI regulars such as Srinivasan, Anurag Thakur etc. leaving a void at the helm within BCCI. If they had been around without the vacuum at the top, I doubt anything would've changed. And once these regulars/politicians come back you will see one more change in ICC constitution. If "Big 3" can be repealed then so can the current constitution At the end of the day BCCI/India generates most of the global cricketing revenue and capitalism dictates no way can the biggest stakeholder/revenue generator be sidelined. It's not as if ICC is FIFA with plenty of big revenue generator. The situation here is more like US within NAFTA. Yeah Mexico and Canada can band together but ultimately US will have its way. Same here. India generates 75-80% of the global cricketing revenue and no matter what ICC does, eventually India/BCCI is bound to call the shots once BCCI gets its house in order. A true fans would want their best team playing and winning WTV comes in front of them. You really believe this? I'm sure no one here is happy about it but at the end of the day democracy exists for this sole reason and the votes took place and we lost. Out voteed by a huge margin aswell. beetle
BCCI needs to lawyer up...get govt backing and declare war. Govt cannot be seen as backing ICC or not backing BCCI now that the financial loses and long term effects on domestic cricket are known. tower and New guy 1 1 Link to comment
