CoA tells BCCI to select Champions Trophy squad 'immediately'

Calling for the "uncertainty" over India's participation in the 2017 Champions Trophy to end, the committee of administrators (COA) has directed the BCCI to select the squad with immediate effect.

India were the only country to miss the April 25 deadline, by when all eight participating countries had to submit their Champions Trophy squads to the ICC. The BCCI had said the delay was because of "operational" reasons.

"There has been more than enough negativity surrounding Team India's participation in the ICC Champions Trophy and the sooner the same is put to rest the better," the COA told BCCI acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary in an email sent on Thursday.

"You are aware that the squad representing India at the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 was to be submitted by 25th April 2017 but the squad has not even been selected as yet. Please convene a meeting of the selection committee for selecting the squad immediately. The squad can then be submitted to the ICC without prejudice to BCCI's legal rights."

The BCCI has called for a special general meeting (SGM) on May 7 to discuss the outcomes of the ICC Board meetings last week, when a new constitution, governance changes and financial model - in which the BCCI's share of revenue was greatly reduced - was passed by an overwhelming majority.

A segment of the BCCI, unhappy with the cut in its revenue from the ICC, wants to revoke the Members Participation Agreement (MPA), which would mean India missing every ICC tournament in the current rights cycle starting form the 2017 Champions Trophy to the 2023 World Cup.

What is their role and what authority do they have? Supreme court is going above and beyond its designated role.

CoA is following Manohars orders. They are all licking the ass of the empire. Ultimate disgrace to any patriotic Indian.

Why is the media silent.

Money is being stolen from India and going to Pakistan.

On ndtv news, someone commented (not me) that inept CoA should be immediately called out. I see ndtv deleted that comment

Read the comments following  such articles. You will know the level of disgust fans have for these bastards of  CoA even though people may not hold bcci in véry high regard.SC has lost a lot of credibility because of these idiots.

Earlier they looked like fools.now they look like icc accomplice.

Time for BCCIto make some public noise about coa being anti India cricket and hand in glove with icc that is hell bent on killing bcci.

Time for people to go to court and ask questions about the over reach of these idiots of COA.

Time for someone from bcci to hold coa responsible for the debacle.

Time for senior cricketers to throw their weight behind bcci and call out the fools of coa.

Someone needs to tell them to check into a retirement home immediately as they look like they have escaped. Do they actually have any credentials? The one in middle looks constipated and who is the extra from Scarface on the left?

India Will Play Champions Trophy, Announce Squad Immediately: Committee of Administrators Tell BCCI

wow.. that is some respect for old folks. The lady in left is Diane Edulji, former Indian captain. Very well respected in Women's cricket.. You can hate what they are doing.. but shouldnt go personal on appearances.

More on her.. .

Looking at powers, It seems CoA is powerless to do anything without SC support. All they are allowed to do is implement Lodha. For everything else, Go amd take

permission from from SC. The way Limaye bypassed BCCI official at Dubai ICC meet, It will be next to impossible for them to get any support from Supreme Court against BCCI officials.
