I agree but the thing is with Pakistan the selectors had no choice but to move on because the seniors have been failing for like 5 years since 2011...

for India our seniors have performed atleast Dhoni has...  Yuvi is the only one left now.   Bhajji is done /  Nehra is done / Zak is done / Munaf is done.   The only pieces left are Yuvi and Dhoni but I think we need to experiment with breaking the playing 11 from time to time  - Shami is being used as a passenger ,  Ashwin is not being utilized.    What the Pakistan team is doing right is they are choosing a different playing 11 for each game   - Horses for courses.   We need to be on the same track  - India tends to play the same 11 regardless of the condition and the opposition - which isn't very smart tbh

If you take out Kohli, we would have been sitting pretty close to #6-7. Kohli has been the reason for their paycheques. And then i hear idiots like Pundits suggesting that they should drop Kedar (who hasn't done anything wrong with bat since he got in Indian team), it boils my blood.

Indian team got the culture that if you are benched as senior batsman, it is an insult. Even Gambhir was saying if you have taken Yuvraj, you have to play him in 11. There should be no ifs or buts.  Like what the hell? Why should it matter? It feels like a government job, where seniority is only thing that matters to move up. Hell even Fake Kohli has more experience that New kid Fakar Zaman.

Actually India's bench strength is solid.  Rahul, Pandey, Tiwary are all decent enough. On top of that we have next gen players like Shreyas Iyer, Pant, Deepak Hooda, Nitish Rana, Krunal pandya, Kuldeep.

Well obviously it was India.

Thank you for the thrashing.

Made us get rid of Wahab and Shezad.

Now we got an aggressive opener and no more weak links in our bowling.

Their fielding is inspired. They are looking good and they are playing well. I am not going to stoop to greenbros level and call it fixed. I think they are good.

WI won CT 2004 and reached finals of 2006. Did that reverse the decline of their cricket ?

WI is basket case while Pakistan is the second most important cricket nation after Bharat. That is why Pakistan were getting same amount under Big 3 plan as they were getting under previous plan.

Which unfortunately is still a petty amount, only enough for some money laundering for PCB officials.

They simply had pitches suites to them .That's the biggest factor.

All three matches they won were low scoring.Which meant their strongest suit bowling came into the fore.

Oval will be different and they haven't played there this tournament .

Let's not forget Pakistan haven't even scored 250 even once this CT.

they have bowled better than every team,in crunch situations having a good bowling unit is paramount.

I firmly believe their pace attack is not better than India'. In spin India missed a trick or two by poor selection.

debatable:

Here is my view, based on performance in CT 2017:

Hassan Ali vs pandya- 90-10 hassan ali

junaid khan vs Kumar - 50-50

mohammed Amir vs bumrah - 60-40 bumrah

shadab vs ashwin - doesn't matter, frontline spin wont be effective in ind vs pak anyways

jadeja vs imad - jadeja 90-10

now based on the impact of the bowlers on the game, i would rate junaid khan, hassan ali and mohammed amir higher then pandya, kumar and bumrah.

I disagree.

Bhuv and Umesh are better than any thing Pakistan has.

Amir better than Bumrah.

Pandya - worst bowler for India

Ashwin - absolute pits.

Our pace is better your spin is.

well, your opinion. I think Pakistan pace has more bite then indian pace, specially during middle overs if reverse swing comes into play.

I think numbers should support what I said. Overall in seriousness pakistan is a good team. You beat SA, and England you deserve respect.

and how your bowlers are doing that is a pertinent question

Have to say in a way Pak were forced to do the right thing...they got rid of some dead wood and picked some youngsters who all delivered for them...they did make some brave changes....we are still stuck with "experience" over youth...,sure me bringing up Dhoni,Yuvi should be expected and let us say even if I get past that  our reserves include Karthik and Rahane ffs.

Shami doesn't look too fit and that is the only reason I think he is not a sure starter if that was a case atleast should have had a rookie bowler.

Ashwin too looks off color.
