Tendu_10
no surprise Kumble is a good man who is trying to bring meritocracy to the team. but Kohli is letting his favouritism to yuvi n ms get in the way. n giving free ride to ash n lesser extent jaddu. Kohli is great batsman but his captaincy is just poor. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk GoldenSun 1 Link to comment

coffee_rules
http://www.espncricinfo.com/india/content/story/1104895.html Quote Once the CAC realised the relationship was beyond repair, it asked the BCCI to take the negotiations process forward. "It was not a pleasant meeting," the board official, who has knowledge of Monday's meeting, said. According to this official Kohli remained "adamant" about his stand which might have helped Kumble make up his mind. Although the Indian squad left for the Caribbean early on Monday morning, Kumble stayed back in London. As chairman of the ICC's cricket committee he is attending the chief executives committee meeting in London. "The CAC is likely to have told BCCI that the differences were not cricketing related but more of a personal nature. If he were to stick on, it would be very awkward on Anil's part. It is not good to handle someone as big as Anil in this manner." F'in Idiot, f his attitude. He will lose more finals with his arrogance, choosing his coterie over practical choice. Shunya
Quote Anil Kumble has stepped down as India coach, four days before the limited-overs tour of the Caribbean begins. Kumble's one-year contract ran out at the end of the Champions Trophy - India played the final on Sunday - but it was understood that he would remain India's coach for the West Indies tour while the board finalised who would be in charge going forward. Despite a successful 2016-17 season under Kumble, the BCCI had advertised for fresh interviews for the head coach's position. In large part, this is thought to be because the board was concerned by player feedback on Kumble: some of them, including the captain Virat Kohli, said they were uncomfortable with the "intimidating" style of Kumble's man management. It is understood that, on Monday, before Kohli departed for the Caribbean he met the BCCI top brass along with Kumble in London. The meeting was also attended by BCCI secretary Amitabh Choudhary, board chief executive officer Rahul Johri and MV Sridhar, general manager of cricket operations. The meeting was necessitated after the three-member cricket advisory committee (CAC) charged with finalising who will be coach informed the BCCI that it had failed to resolve the impasse between Kohli and Kumble. Considering it was the CAC, comprising Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman, that had recommended and shortlisted Kumble as the final choice last year, it still felt he remained the first choice for the head coach position going forward. The BCCI had received six applications including that of Kumble for the fresh interview process. It is understood that the CAC did not meet Kumble at all after it was asked by the BCCI to make the final choice. "The differences seem irreparable," a board official, who is privy to the discussions, said. He agreed that Kohli was not ready to take a step back. Once the CAC realised the relationship was beyond repair, it asked the BCCI to take the negotiations process forward. Popular Post Gollum
When you get too arrogant for your own good, disaster will follow. Pretty sure our arrogant, overhyped cricketers will pay the price for this, we will lose our no 1 ranking very soon and become a mid tier team in all formats. Kohli's downfall has just begun, wait and watch. To Jumbo, our greatest matchwinner and an unsung hero, thank you for all you have done. These people don't deserve you, keep your chin up. Cricketics
I don't mind a one man show Kohli too even if he gets a puppet to as a coach who agrees everything what Kohli says. This is important. This will prove how good or bad a captain Kohli is very soon. If Kohli makes the right decisions about olayers and India keeps on winning, then good and moment his decisions back fire, he can give captaincy to someone else. Clearly there was perhaps lot of difference in Kumble and Kohli whoch might have cost this final and hence Kumble has quit. Ironhide, Pollack, DDfan2017 and 2 others 2 3 Link to comment

maniac
Kumble has played under 4 different captains all having a different personality than the one before Azhar,Sachin,Ganguly,Dravid not only he never had a problem with them but every single on including Azhar has had only great things to say about him. Hell even someone like Greg Chappell had no bad thing to say about him saying everyone should have a work ethic like him. So clearly issue is not with Kumble here. With the selections and other crap I am slowly becoming disheartened with Virat. He is still 2nd only to Sachin for me(Rohit being an exception ) as someone who has given me belief but slowly I am coming to terms that he may not be the guy to lead us to the promised land as we once believed Edited June 20, 2017 by maniac Gollum, The Dark Horse, sandeep and 2 others 5 Link to comment

Kohli is not that bloody important that you are willing to put everything in his accordance and approval and stake the sport on the line ? Indian team is bigger than Kohli. As a captain you have to work the support/coaching staff . When you work in a company / hospital / customer service / as an athlete - You do not have the luxury to choose your management and surround yourself with yes-sayers ! Kohli's ego is getting too huge - Dravid/Tendulkar/Ganguly all backed Kumble , he was never known to be an issue as a player or as an analyst and his cricketing experience is way better than Kohli and Kohli does come across as a guy who wouldn't listen to someone against his own views. sandeep, Sidhoni and Gollum 3 Link to comment
