This India A batting lineup does not look that good even on paper.  Bowling should have done much better though. Especially Aniket Chaudhary. This is why I am mostly critical of hit the deck pacers. Indians are not that good at it.

All Indian pacers and India A team pacers are hit-the-deck pacers nowadays, barring Bhuvi and Kaul and even they are hitting the deck with a higher percentage of deliveries.

I meant those whose USP is hitting the deck. And those who rely mostly on it.

Srinath, Shami and Bumrah are 3 successful Indian quicks who rely or used to rely on hitting the deck hard most of the time.

 

Ishant is  the only Indian quick with a long career who has been below par as a hit-the-deck bowler, and that is more due to him not being a thinking bowler and slow learner.

Why is Hanuman Vihari not in the scheme of things? He averages 56 in FC and has a solid technique. We need to look into long format specialists like him as well so that we can groom the next Pujara or Vijay.

Keep giving more A-team tours for these bowlers. They are certainly NOT ready for Indian team yet, but hopefully more A-tours can help them.

Nair is not test material overseas. He has failed in all A tours for past 3 years. He is good only against spin. We should start investing in someone else.
