He is one od the best catcher(barring at slip) and best fielderss regardless of being captian stand on the boundaries to take catch. Ponting did it and so did Collingwood. So there goes your theory about being bad captain if captian decides to stand on boundary. sandeep 1

He is a great player but good or bad one can clearly see Dhoni leading on the pitch and Ravi at the back end running the show. I am not sold on his captaincy in LOI’s In tests yes he is a breath of fresh air. Edited November 7, 2017 by maniac

You were blaming or questioning Kohli standing out when you know he is one of the better outfielders.

Dude Ponting was one of the best run out specialists of all time....he hardly fielded in the deep or may be even when he did it was never in a tight contest.

Captains don’t field on the boundary in tight situations...period...you just quoted examples out of thin air.

In tight conest, you apply what works. We need fielders who can take catches and stop singles from becoming doubles and Kohli is good in stopping those runs in the boundary and hence he stands there. Him being captain doesn’t mean he has to be inside the circle and constantly tak to his bowlers. That also puts pressure on the bowler. Sign of a good captain is also to let bowler do their thing. He knows he has bowled a poor ball, doesn’t mean you have to go to him every ball and tell him what to bowl. That is Pakistani mentality which we often see Sarfarwz Ahmed dopretty much every game.

Whatever convinces you man This is my take Kohli as a player- Gem in all formats no certificates needed As a captain in tests- Good As a captain in LOIs- poor
Nonbeliever Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 I always admire the way kiwis play the game. True gentleman of the game. They will go with their head high and best wishes from Indians. Laaloo and Mosher 2

I want Kohli to be captain but a real captain and not a rubber stamp one and any one else would be in the same boat as him as well because Dhoni is dominating. He is the best guy who has a stature to step up but he is not which is disappointing Turning_track and Laaloo 2
