Being absolutely pragmatic, I don't think we have a chance. Current team is too top heavy batting wise. Middle order is absolute chaddi when under pressure. Bowling is alright. Shastri as coach inspires very little confidence.

This team will be brutally exposed in the RSA LOIs series.

Well we got to final of last ct held in England . And last World Cup semis in oz

world Cup tracks in England won’t be seaming . They will be flat . Icc wants runs runs runs . If kohli , Rohit and Dhawan get going up top we have every chance

That's what I'm actually worried about. Most tracks will be flat but not all of them. Look what a mediocre Lanka did to our batting line-up today on a pitch with assistance for bowlers?

Now imagine our batsmen vs Aus/NZ/Eng on a slightly seaming wicket :fear1:

Slightly seaming is fine . Today was crazy movement . No such track will be at World cupWorld Cup

That's the current problem. While I'm still optimistic that we'll pull together a stronger middle order in the next 15 months, currently there is no batting available beyond the top 3.

yeah not sure why people are judging on todays pitch. We wont ever see a pitch like odis for a while now and we havent seen one in a while until yesterday either.

Just gives plenty of self loathers a chance to stick some knives in on icf , which many are waiting for regularly . The last year of wins has irked many lol

We have become chokers since 2013 CT. More than anything we need to fix that, but how do we do so? Need a Mike Horn before big tournaments and team psychologist travelling with the team.

Ott statement. Chokers lol we can’t win every tournament lol there are other teams with good players who also want to win as well

Agreed we are not chokers as India is always a force to reckon in the ICC tourneys but still losing twice in the semis & twice in the finals in the last 4 years is a massive underachievement.

SL too were faltering in semis/finals  from 2007-2013 & there used to be a lot of hue & cry in SL fans /media about their team's inability to win ICC silverware even once in 6 chances. They finally won against us in 2014.

Here I haven't seen/heard media grilling the team on this matter, even if anybody addressed this issue after CT final thrashing to Pak it was quickly forgotten.

Still remember that Ganguly always used to be at the receiving end in the press conferences because of his team's failure to win any triangular trophy or multination tournaments except the Natwest in 2002.
