Highest Indian Wicket taking Pacer in Africa will be jasprit Bumrah

Why? Why is experience more important than skill and form? What impact would Umesh's previous experience in South Africa have when he has shown since then that he is learnt very little (if not nothing), as evidenced by his downright terrible test record?

How does experience get you wickets when you are out there, bowling on those wickets as the likes of Dale Steyn, Morkel, Rabada roam with their superior skill?

This is why Navdeep Saina has been allowed to reach the age of 25 before even consideration of a chance for him in the national team. At 25, Dale Steyn was demonstrating his supreme skill during the record-breaking 2008 year. Culture of experience over technical know-how, skill and attacking bowling is why Australia will forever play more attacking and attractive cricket over India, no matter how successful the current team becomes in test cricket.

I will personally take a experienced guy over a non experienced one if everything else is equal. Like i said let us see how it unfolds.

Bumrah as a test bowler is largely untested.  I will keep my fingers crossed about his performances in Tests. Shami has the guile, Ishant is a work horse that Kohli may need. Third seamer most likely will be  Bhuvi who can swing the new ball. He will definitely go in with atleast one spinner either Jaddu or Ash. Essentially there is no room for Bumrah. But Don't rule out considering Shami always has some fitness issues. Umesh Yadav would be handy for some fast spells. But who will you drop.

5 bowlers are needed to draw the match. Check out bumrah's first class record. He is as proven as possible before debut. And Umesh Yadav is a terrible bowler who should never start again.

Why does that matter ? Kohli has an order shami, bhuvi, IShant, Umesh then comes bumrah. Claiming will be the highest wicket taker with out facts is bogus. He didn’t even debut for India in test yet. What kind of bs is this ?

so when should Bumrah debut? you sill never give him debut by this logic.

dear i have already written what i analyse....ishant shammi bumrah will be our pace attack with Hardik in the first test unless its swinging conditions..africa offers bouncy tracks and so ishant is ahead of bhuvi. shammi and bumrah are our Pace leaders..one guys leads in tests and second guy used to lead in ODI but now he will be played in tests too...its simple.

if conditions support only then bhuvi is picked in tests.

@vishalvirsingh - Can you bet money where your mouth is?

Bet that Bhuvi will not be selected for Test-1 (which is what you wrote) - will you?

barring injury

This is what Kohli said after the Sri Lanka test

Kohli On Bhuvneshwar: his bowling has picked up pace, his ball is heavier than what it used to be. He grabs his chances every time he comes into the team. He's a massive contender to start in every Test for India, he'll be a vital part of our plans, especially overseas.

As I said, you don't/can't watch matches recently, your perception is way outdated.

I am more worried about Morkel than anyone. Morkel is the biggest threat but South Africa might not realize this and might make him sit out if they play 3 seamers.

Morkel has historically troubled us even when he was young and had not made his debut for South Africa he troubled us in warm up games.

He is the best of the best out there with the amout bounce and pace he generates. India might get “Morkalized” in a session or two this series provided he is played by South Africa and used well.

I am also scared of Morkel..though rabada is the main threat.

morkel has bouncers as its weapon and vijay 's technique is now built on leaving n ducking bouncers, if he suceeds in leaving morkel's 3 overs ..threat fades away.

rahul and kohli hit bouncers well but they may also think of leaving the extra bounce but still i agree ishant and morkel have the capability to generate bounce from good length too on bouncy pitches which is dangerous.

Pujara & Vijay have to eat up some balls and i am sure they will and by chance if they dont- then we are in big trouble.

today i saw one batsman getting clean bowled off the bowling of aniket rajput..if i remember. was the batsman rahane and bowler aniket rajput.

I am wearing the HAT that Virat wears...and thinking like Virat.

why will bumrah be Selected in the 11-

1. He has an awkward complicated Bowling action like lasith Malinga  and till today NOT A SINGLE BATSMAN among other competitors has sorted Bumrah OUT and thats why he is fighting with starc n Amir to be the world no 1 ODI bowler. brings Surprise element.

2. he did bowl even upto 148 k in champion trophy and had nearly won us the CT just that he no Bowled and then he was asked to relax and field , had he continued bowling he would have got the same batsman out again.

3. he has immense stamina ..probably as much as Umesh Yadav. He is a SIKH JAT and I am a haryanvi JAT, so i have fair idea about the fighting Spirit of JAT's , haryanvi as well as Sikh Jat's.. I am not against BHUVI but if conditions go a lil flat ..a india TEST 11 Pacer has to be able to BEAT RABADA/MORKEL/steyn gun/MOrris( i dont consider Vilander tuf unless conditions support him).

Rabada and Morris can bowl at 145 to 153K and Morkel is a BEAST of a MAN.

dont expect bhuvi to beat RABADA and MORKEL on a Pitch which does not Swing ..i have full respect to the brains that Bhuvi has and how intelligent he is as a bowler...bhuvi has proven me wrong in the PAST as well but on african pitches ..we need PACE STAMINA and the LINE N LENGTH.

when i say PACE..its the Speed, if the bowler will bowl under 133k ...he will be carted every where unless the pitch is a green mambo where even a 133k LAKMAL is deadly.

we need a Power horse SHAMMI at full fitness and full rhythm as if he has some fitness issue then we are bound to loose.

umesh is already disappointing me but if he is in form he can be as good as SHammi.

Ishant has shown some seriously good length and Pace and thats why i have hope from him other wise i was sure to sit him out...

he also got wickets in domestic cricket where he may not have bowled at full throttle.

bhuvi was very very good and improved but his pace was a bit of ON/OFF, which got me to think that he could be deadly in first spell and later turn into a trundler.

our best are umsh shammi and bumrah and fourth one is ishant but umesh is not showing form so ishant goes ahead.

i even have hopes from Hardik Pandya..he is a bouncer specialist so i wont be surprised if create's some challenges as well as some of his bouncers are truly dangerous. more over normally his bowling style is such that he hits the deck and bowls a lot of bouncers.

Bhuvi had the same average speed as Pandya yesterday. In his second spell he took one wicket and had a catch drop, still looked the most effective

i have a Quick question to experts here..

if the team management finds ankit rajpoot or siraj or thampi or who was the 4th pacer selected for nets performing very well on bouncy tracks ..can they pull them into the direct playing 11.

I think they can say one bowler is injured and they need a replacement
