Parthiv Patel doesn't know the difference b/w a wicketkeeper and a goalkeeper...

its not enough if you just stop the ball parthiv... you should catch it..

Lol, not just any goalkeeper, a hockey goalkeeper at that. A football keeper should ideally catch the ball, and deflect if he cannot -- so actually not that different from a wicketkeeper, despite the difference in name and format. The hockey keeper can only slap it away, which is what Kamran Akmal and Parthiv Patel seem to think a keeper's gloves are (primarily) for.

Even as a hockey keeper Pappu will probably watch the ball go into goal and then blame the Defender who was 20 feet away.

Why does Kohli always have this casual 'hands on knees' pose while standing at slips? He moves his hands to the catching position around the time the ball reaches the bat. Isn't that poor slip catching technique?

The best starting position for a slip fielder is to have cupped hands and bend almost as much as the wicketkeeper? That way it is always easier to get your hands up take a waist high catch than if you are staying up but suddenly need to go down to take an ankle high catch.

Shouldn't the tech/video guys in the squad point this out to him? Thoughts?

Look at the position of the wicketkeeper (even though he sucks), silly point vs Kohli.. no cupped hands, most upright stance of the three close fielders, tight inflexible leg position

The ball is almost reaching the batsman and he's still in that position. No wonder he drops lot of catches. He should be get into the catching position even before the release of the ball.
