PSB_Zone Posted January 22, 2018 Posted January 22, 2018 -India t-20 side do need a left armer but there aren't many -If we want to play both kuldeep and chahal then few of our bowlers must be decent if not good with the bat.. -We dont hv any batsmen after no. 6 but atlest our 7,8 and 9 can hold the bat. Unadkat is no mug with the bat either. That way we can play 6 bowlers with all basis covered for all conditions. -Unadkat may not be the best out there but atleast he completes our combination Rohit/rahul Pant Kohli Rahul/Rohit Raina Pandya Bhuvi Unadkat Kuldeep Chahl Bumrah

He uses deceptive slower balls which grip the surface in subcontinent conditions making him effective. Outside subcontinent and after his slower balls get found out, he may become cannon fodder. Only way Unadkat makes it to the T20 side if he's good enough to play as a seamer - i.e. if Bhuvi or Bumrah are unavailable.
express bowling Posted January 22, 2018 Posted January 22, 2018 (edited) We need to rest our regular test and ODI players in bilateral T20Is. Avoiding burnouts is important. I like the idea of T20I specialists and Unadkat could be one .... would provide rest for Bumrah and Bhuvi. I don't like medium pacers in tests and ODIs ... but they can be perfectly ok in T20s if they have variations. Thampi , Unadkat and Vijay Shankar can be our 3 T20I seamers ... With the little tests he gets to play,he can play all formats. May be rest a few odis. As it is kohli refuses to consider him all condition bowlers....so he gets enough rest . Give him off when kohli maharaj feels the series won' t suit him .

Bhuvi can always play bilateral T20Is IF he is not overworked. But IF he gets to play most tests and all ODIs outside Asia then he too needs rest. Infact, I would like to see Kohli, Pandya, Bumrah and Bhuvi all rested in bilateral T20Is if they are playing almost all matches in the other 2 formats.
