Well, before the game, even so called experts on this forum wanted India to chase in the final. I, for one, really hoped our captain and management weren't as dumb, but alas no. Though Kohli had never proved himself as captain in the IPL, I still had belief in his captaincy. But that completely changed at the toss and during Pakistan's innings. And now the final nail in the coffin with his selections on this tour by having Rohit in tests, Rahane in ODIs, Pandey in T20s. He is not biased or favors certain players but just outright incompetent with no vision.

CT Trophy and South African tests aside he has an impeccable record. Captains need time to learn and grow, you don't just start with a finished product. I thought this was obvious when taking on a new captain (only took over ODIs last year) but some expecting him to be Mike Brearley after 2 days on the job (look at how many ODIs he got to captain before entering CT trophy).

India also lost the final as we are historically known to struggle against unknown players. Pak fielding Zaman, Shadab, Hassan Ali who all contributed. As long as we continue to boycott Pak, except further phainties when we come up against them in major tournaments.

Disagree. We faced Hasan Ali in the group stage match as well, he was hammered for 70 runs. Shadab played in that match too.
Many unknown players to us like Sohaib Maqsood, Bilawal Bhatti, Umar Amin, Sharjeel Khan etc played against India in major tournaments, but they did not do much damage.
Its just that Fakhar Zaman had his luck & punished us severely. But the notion that by boycotting them, we'd get a phainty in big tournaments is false.

In the last 15 years we have won more matches against them in world tournaments, more so since 2009.

needs factual evidence, does India struggle more against unknown bowlers ?

how come they beat them in all games prior to that final then ? not to take anything away from pak players, it was a final and scoreboard pressure worked for them, its not a trend mostly expect a through and all-round trashing next time they meet India, as India bowls fields and bats much better.

Each one of them proved themselves for a period against other oppositions as well. As a matter of fact Indians handled Dananjaya and doug better than others.  India figured out Ajanda Mendis first, Lungi is a good bowler but he was figured out before the end of the ODI series. This list does the opposite of what its intended actually.

Only in your mind. Mendis giving us phainty in Asia Cup final and then proceeding to give bigger phainty in test series and your praising Indian team to be the first to suss him out. Thanks for proving my overriding point tho ie The more you play against someone, the less chance they have of surprising you

Amir may be an avg bowler against other teams but always performs against us. He is the main reason why we lost the CT final and will continue to be a thorn in our flesh for few years now. Our openers need to find a way to play him if we want to win the 2019 WC game.

That was the most pathetic bowling attack India had. India only had 15 overs of good bowlers and rest Ashwin and jaddu were useless. SL was a warning but the stupid kaptaan did not get the hint.

thats elementary. But how is India struggling more against new bowlers in comparison to other countries. There needs to be statistical proof, burden of proof is on folks who claim this.
