Why the need to generalize?

Peddling lies, because your company asked you to, doesn't fall under the ambit of professionalism (in the context of journalism).

I think you are mixing lobbying (a democratic right) with a news channel showing a blatant bias and asking its reporters to show a certain narrative which may not be completely factual. The two aren't the same. The latter can result in libel. And has many times.

Every news channel will have bias.

Simply from the factor of omission : not all news will be covered. Cannot be covered. So what the channel chooses to omit, is bias.

There is a difference between false information, which is perjury/libel and selective reporting - which every single news site is forced to do due to time & space constraint.

And if the news service says 'we are a conservative platform, i want you to represent the conservative angle', then it is utterly unprofessional to not do so.

Media is just business full stop just look at them .On 24 feb a BJP leader ran over 20 children in Bihar out of them , 9 were killed but for media this is just second or third grade news , while endless discussions on Sri Devi's death is taking 99% of prime time

The media is just showing what people generally want to see. They are nothing but a mirror here. Maybe a crazy mirror, the types that you see in Essel World, which flatten/fatten/distort the image. But a mirror nonetheless. They reflect what the society in general prioritizes. And if someone does not like what they see in the mirror, the fault is not the mirrors. Throwing stones may not help, but a rhinoplasty could.

If people did not attach much importance to Sreedevi related news, the media would not cover it that extensively.

Media is one of the pillar of democracy .They have some responsibility if they are just after trp then they should call it media entertainment.

Also the same logic is applicable on politicians , they too just pick the pulse of Society and make their career out of it.Yet they receive biggest abuse from the same people

Hiw did people miss Sagarika Ghose in the worst list? Her husband rajdeep is another one.

Look at OP listed her as "Rajdeep and his biwi!"

It's like AB Sr said, "Hum Jahan Khade hote hain..line wahin se shuru hota hain". The worst list starts with the couple.

That is thinking very highly of her. I don't think she qualifies as a journalist.

Her 'work' comes across as a hybrid of haiku and a schizophrenics ranting.

she writes haiku? :O
