what is this ?
do you see all tamils revolting ??

did you see csk fans in stadium or not ?, control yourself.

if there are riots in bengal do you see folks saying all of bengal is now muslim dominated, hope bengali bramins are now happy ?

Do you realise what just happened? Or you have worn the blinkers.

If majority of Tamilians dont support this Politicos wont risk it as they will lose votes.

If we start stopping IPL games because there is less water in Hooghly call us out.

There is no freaking connection between Cauvery and IPL.

If the locals don’t want it why even have team for Chennai. Today it is Cauvery tomorrow it will be something else. Better to shift franchise to a separate city out of the state.

random generalization... some 100 goons do not represents the city

Dude no one in chennai fcking supports them they are fringe of the fringe freaking goon loosers.its a law and order and back channel failure would not have happened if a half decent cm was in power. Preventive custody and back channel negotiations are very prevalant in TN its not for nothing that chennai is always stable thw current regime has no will.

The bigger problem is every leader from film and political circles support this. This will mobilize the masses. They deployed around 4000 policeman for one IPL match. The policeman have lot on their plate than to provide protection for every IPL for next few months for matches in Chennai. Too bad though I really like the new Chennai stadium it has the modern look.

i am not 100% sure that matches will be shifted .. somebody will bell naam tamilar group

They should be. Itvis time to call their bluff. People should know that they cannot hold the nation/ state/ people to ransom with gundagardi...no matter what the cause.

Did people not see the peaceful farmer protests in mumbai ?

The hope the wrath of the people makes these gundas hide behind their papas.

The shifting of matches from Chennai to Pune has been confirmed: http://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/id/23112063/ipl-matches-moved-chennai-security-concerns

Amma would have slapped these idiots thrown them in jail before the match and bagged 50crs from CSK for protection . #ammastyle

This issue has to do with the urban rural divide that is creeping into society and fringe element can use this divide to creep in . Only way to squash this is for more civic engagement . The sad part is the urban politicians ( so called actors ) don’t seem to be playing the game fair . See shades of TRuMp tactics , them vs us . Fringe elements can exist if the opposing party is strong , at this moment that is not the case with Amma gone . This a bell weather for Tamil Nadu and its coming years, doesn’t look good .

its based on available water for sure, but how is that measured, it should not be based on a state machinery is all i am saying. Imagine a purely central government/representative river authority finalizing yearly water in catchment areas and deciding on the share, thats the way to go, so if farmers have ability and information their crops wont fail. This state vs state machinary is not working obviously.

karnataka dont want to lose its staus quo .. do you think tamilnadu like to lose its control of periyar dam ?

it has to be done forcibly, say if there is not state distinction between delta farmers and upstream farmers then where will be the issue. But its not clear how much of it is feasible, power and other aminities will still be from the states ( you can not build a seperate state around cauvery basin).

meanwhile more than 75% of water flowing through punjab is being diverted to other states and it's controlled by centre
