Is Hardik Pandya the biggest fraud to ever play for us ?

the biggest fraud was jadeja as all rounder , 10 yrs and nothing

You conveniently ignored test matches. Jadeja has been an absolute monster with his bowling at home and has made handy contributions with the bat. Averages 39 with the bat and <24 with the ball in the last 2 years.

Correct. But that does not mean not being an absolute all rounder implies no place in the squad whatsoever. Generally, there's batting all rounders and bowling all rounders as well who can contribute on a part time basis in their secondary skill.

We accept players with middle of the road stats in both disciplines, its impossible to have 6 really good batsmen and 4 really good bowlers in a team. With that in mind, why should we sideline someone who's shown promise with both bat & ball ?

Those days are gone. You can be higly skilled in one discipline only at that level and cricket is no exception. Allrounder concept comes from the days when cricket was predominantly an amature sport. That is not the case anymore and you need specialist at every position.

Cricket wasn't amateur in the 80s, it was tough as nails. Nor was it amateur when Kallis was a badass allrounder.

You don't seem to know much of cricket and are giving out immature personal opinions as facts.

He is par for the course right now as an allrounder in limited overs. He can bowl good overs and also have a good day with the bat. This is with him being a young player, he will get better with a more defined role.

his bowling has improved...needs much work on batting against pace

So quick to jump to conclusion. So how many allrounders has India had so far?

Pandya will be a good batsman if he puts his mind right. But he puts his mind towards panwala haircuts and his girlfriends. His offseason score will be better than his on season score . Im not sure about his bowling abilities. He was pretty good in the SA series. But fast bowling takes a lot out of you and he may settle to be a batsman who bowls occasionally in the end. He is not a bowling allrounder like Shaun Pollock or Mitch starc. That is if he puts his mind right. He is still green to international cricket.
I hope he does not go the Kambli way

To play for India you need to be closed to a finished project. Pandya hope he proves me wrong will have  max potantial each year and nothing to show for. One thing he has going for him is his friendship with Kohli.

You make it seem like Pandya is this once in a generation talent lol

I have never seen him have a spell running through sides or an innings like say for eg, Ben Stokes 240 vs SA etc.

So far has had decent performances here and there.

Right now he fits into the scheme of things because he can bowl fast and has ability with the bat...about time he starts converting in to big performances.

That 90 in Sa vs good but again how many times in the history of cricket have we seen a lower order bat play freely and get some important runs?

He has become a superstar without having a superstar resume so far.

Can he be trusted to provide break throughs consistently?

can he be trusted to wrap up the tail?

can he save the game in a draw/lose situation?

can he bail us out from a 60/6 kind of situation?

so far he has done nothing...as I said at this point Bhuvi is more of an all rounder than Pandya

not really but he is a superstar in making , will be one the biggest contributors

didnt happen all of sudden, i remember him getting out on 0 0 0 against india

Which is gr8 for a guy who was raw n fast tracked

Thats why he needs backing not constant scrutiny, specially the stupid ones that he has lost his mind coz of money

history is made to be changed

who wud have a thought a keeper will be a successful captain , everyone was agianst this thought

who thought tendulkar record wud be under a threat

He has become a superstar without having a superstar resume so far.

Dnt think he is a superstar currently , gets a lot of bashing . N cricketer like him who are expressive will always be bashed unless they become virat

Can he be trusted to provide break throughs consistently?

i dnt trust him but he is doing it more often then i expected

can he be trusted to wrap up the tail?

I dnt even expect that from stokes

can he save the game in a draw/lose situation?

for that he needs to play a lot of games

When dhoni i came i thought same n he saved lords test

can he bail us out from a 60/6 kind of situation?

Didnt he do that against SA

so far he has done nothing...as I said at this point Bhuvi is more of an all rounder than Pandya

Bhuvi isnt a all rounder in LOI, inLOI he can bat a bit

In test , i consider Pandya bits n pieces currently who is just needed to give balance n mostly rest to that pace attack we have and some cushion to batting side

He needs to improve a lot in his game. Good thing for him is that Kohli & Shastri are backing him.

He will go for a plenty in his 1st over in an ODI then take the wicket of Steve Smith in the next over out of nowhere. His catch of Amla in Wanderers test triggered a collapse. Won't call him a hack or a fraud for now, I'll wait for his performances in England & Australia.

But his antics off the field is truly embarrasing, after losing test series to SA both him & KL Rahul were criticised by Indian media for their dabbing acts & posting it on social media.

He will get better only if management is strict. Drop him for a couple of months and force him to focus on cricket, he reminds me of Nick Kyrgios' tryst with tennis, only that unlike Nick, Pandya doesn't have once in a generation talent.

Agree that his batting has degraded but who do we play if he is dropped. Vijay Shankar ?. Not the better option surely. Once in generation talent was Kapil Dev. There has been another generation after Kapil retired but no all-rounder  has shown  that once in generation performance which Kapil gave. Think the  only option is to give him games and keep hoping he will improve. If he is dropped won't his performance slide more downwards due to not playing top level cricket.
