Sorry, different countries different meanings I saw a list on here yesterday of dates when each Indian made their debut .I was shocked for the reason you give of how long each player has been involved in Test cricket .A perfect example being Dharwan who has managed to play Test Cricket for 5 years without being a Test Opener .

Bowling is at least ok at home and keeps the dissenters (like me) from having a full on meltdown

The Overtons and Wood I guess but they're not good enough. There's Stone and Brookes at Warwickshire and Chappell at Leicester but they're very raw and nowhere near Test level
